'90 Day: The Last Resort' Goes to Sex Ed with Remote-Controlled Vibrators and a Salt Water Circumcision

Angela and Michael learned how to get perky from afar, while the other couples asked questions about how to enlarge their penises and leaned into self-love.

Things get spicier 90 day: last refuge.

On Monday’s episode, the couples — Ed and Liz, Angela and Michael, Yara and Jovi, Kelly and Molly and Asuela and Kalani — received sex education training as they dealt with the ups and downs of their relationships.

At the beginning of the episode, Yara and Jovi practiced yoga together to relieve stress. After that, they discussed their problems, specifically the disagreement about when to have another child.

The couple are already parents to a young daughter, Myla, and Yara doesn’t want to have another child until their daughter is at least four years old. She told Jovi that she remains on birth control.

“I hope Jovi understands that if we decide to have another child, it will be on my timeline,” she said in the confessional. “It will be when my body is ready for it. And we have to learn how to deal with our problems without one of us getting drunk or trying to get a divorce. So at this point, I think we need to worry about fixing our marriage, not growing our family.”

Jovi said he feels he should be relieved that his wife was honest with him about birth control, but admitted he still has “doubts” about their marriage after she kept it from him.

“If we can’t find a way to connect and communicate, I honestly don’t know what that means for our future,” he said in the confessional.

Later in the episode, the cast attended a class taught by certified sex educator Reba Corrine Thomas. Things took a very bad turn when Ed made a poorly received joke, asking “Where do babies come from?” and getting an icy reception. They also asked various questions, such as how to enlarge the penis.

When the topic of circumcision came up, Kalani suggested Asuelo share his story. He recounted his experience of being circumcised at the age of 15.

“When we cut the d—, we’re going to walk like this in the sea water,” he said, pointing. “And we sit on the sea water and clap so the fish don’t come and eat our d—.”

The couples were then asked to rank their sex lives, and the responses produced mixed results. Asuelu ranked his and Kalani’s a “10,” but she declined to answer the question, saying it seemed inappropriate.

“After Asuela cheated on me and I did what I did, we were not physically intimate in any way,” she admitted in the confessional. “Whenever I think about him having sex, I don’t think about him having sex with me, I think about him having sex with other people.”

Meanwhile, Kelly said he and Molly are not currently having sex, but compared them to “barbarians” of the time. Jovi said he wanted more sex, but Yara felt it was important to be more romantic before getting intimate.

Liz declared in front of the whole group that she would rather “undress herself” than wait for Ed to “catch [his] breath.”

“Thinking about being intimate with Ed is the furthest thing from my mind right now,” she said bluntly in the confessional. “Because it’s really bad. If we don’t try to work on our sex life in the bedroom, the relationship is over.”

Afterwards, the episode cut to Angela and Michael, who were not included in the class due to the long distance. With Michael invited via video call, they met Rema for a one-on-one couples session, where the sex therapist answered questions and revealed her own surprise.

Michael explained that he does not masturbate because of his religious beliefs. “I don’t believe that,” he said. “I’d rather see my partner, you know, physically. I prefer mating, you know? Do it.”

As a solution for the long-distance couple, Rema introduced a remote-controlled bluetooth vibrator that they could experiment with. She explained that Angela would wear it and Michael would control it using an app. Both seemed excited about the potential.

Then Ed and Liz should have had an honest talk about the problems in their relationship a long time ago. Liz complained about his constant need to crack jokes and his inability to take anything seriously, citing his antics that day in class as an example.

Ed admitted he needed to “tone down his comedy”, which he reverted to whenever things “got serious”. He apologized for joking too much, adding: “I’m serious about us. I want it to work and I just feel like, you know, we’re slipping away. And I say this very carefully, I don’t like to take life seriously like that because something could happen to you, something could could have happened to me too.”

Liz then realized it herself. “I could take you away from me tomorrow and… I never let you feel like I had your back,” she said, getting emotional. “I get that.”

The two made a deal: Ed would try to take things more seriously, and Liz would try not to bring him down. They exchanged heartfelt “I love yous” and both seemed happy with the way things were.

Later, all pairs received “homework” from Rema. Angela and Michael tested their vibrator as she encouraged him, “Don’t play games Michael, take it easy.” During that time, Asuela masturbated solo, and Jovi and Yara cuddled in bed.

Towards the end of the episode, Molly and Kelly reached a potential breaking point. They attended private counseling with Dr. Jason Prendergast, a mental health counselor, and discussed why they don’t see eye to eye.

Molly, who has been frustrated since Kelly quit his job as a police officer, claimed he “has no respect for me as a mother and as a business owner”. Kelly claimed the two had not communicated recently and that he refused to “fight for” someone who would “turn on me.”

“She’s wrong, man! I don’t need this,” he shouted to Dr. Prendergast, getting emotional. “I went against all my beliefs for her. I changed everything for her. I don’t want to be with that kind of person. I’m not sure. I’m not sure… no, no, she did me wrong, man.”

In the confessional, Dr. Prendgergast said he believes both sides are dealing with their problems through “avoidance” rather than communication. “I think both Kelly and Molly are holding on to things that they have to individually let go of before they can really be a real, solid couple,” he explained.

Molly said she understood where Kelly was coming from, but she still had her doubts.

“I don’t feel like he can take care of me,” she said honestly. “Not emotionally, not financially, not physically, not sexually, not mentally, and he probably feels the same way.”

Kelly just got up and left at that point. He seemed completely done with the conversation and seemed to have no desire to continue listening to Molly or try to mend their relationship.

“I can’t deal with a liar,” he declared as he stormed off. “I am done.”
