98 Degrees may be a group of pop stars, but as dads, they’re still trying to score cool points.
While speaking with PEOPLE at the 22nd Annual Asian American Awards on Dec. 14, bandmates Jeff Timmons, Nick Lachey, Justin Jeffre and Drew Lachey opened up about their lives as fathers. The ’90s pop stars may have millions of fans, but when asked if their children are impressed by their success, the group split their opinions.
Timmons, who is father to daughter Alyssa and son Jeffery Jr., told PEOPLE, “Unfortunately, no.” The 51-year-old adds: “No matter what we show them, we’re still not as cool as Justin Bieber or some of the K-pop groups that are out there.”

Nick Lachey, 51, who has sons Camden, 12, and Phoenix, 8, and daughter Brooklyn, 9, with wife Vanessa Lachey, posted: “It’s great though to be able to share what we love to do and have loved doing for 25 years, with our children.”
“And for them that they can still come and see us in concert, that’s certainly an added advantage,” he continued.
“I think the kids know we’re cool,” added Jeffree, 51, confidently.
