A Chuck E. Cheese Game Show Is Coming Soon Featuring ‘Supersized’ Arcade Games Like ‘the Human Claw’

  • Producers announced the Chuck E. Cheese-themed competition show on Tuesday A top chef and Nail It!
  • Adult contestants will play giant versions of classic arcade games like pinball and air hockey
  • The series is in development so the network and premiere date have not yet been announced

Chuck E. Cheese’s is a place where a kid can be a kid — but the show inspired by the iconic play center is for adults only.

On Tuesday, Magical Elves, the production company behind top chef, announced that they are developing a game show inspired by Chuck E. Cheese.

According to the press release, the series will “touch nostalgia with physical competitions” for adults inspired by the brand’s many games.

Adults called “big kids” will compete in “big” arcade games like air hockey, roller blading, pinball, and human claw. The duo that wins the most tickets (like in real Chuck E. Cheese restaurants!) will trade tickets for prizes via “a massive version of the iconic Chuck E. Cheese’s prize wall.”

For more than four decades, Chuck E. Cheese has truly been multigenerational. Magical Elves co-CEOs Jo Sharon and Casey Kriley agree that this is exactly why fans will be drawn to the series. “Chuck E. Cheese’s is where a kid can be a kid – but as adults, we still have dreams of ruling the arcades, playing the legendary games we love!” the couple said in a joint statement.

Details, including where and when the show will air, are yet to be announced.

Chuck E. Cheese’s has expanded in more ways than one. In August, the company debuted a release of Buddy Valastro’s song “Buddy V’s Cake Slices” at Chuck E. Cheese.

The father of four visited a Chuck E. Cheese in Union, New Jersey, to kick off the expansion of his slice brand into a family fun center by handing out samples of his cakes to all the kids in the store.

“My dream was for my bakery to become a well-known name – that was the dream of me and my father. That’s what we did with cake chef,“, the owner of Carlo’s Bakery told PEOPLE. “The question now is: How do I find different ways to let people taste my cake?”

Buddy thought Chuck E. Cheese’s was the perfect place, especially with cherished family memories of his own children’s parties.

“I remember when one of the boys, I think it was Buddy [Jr.], when he was a baby, we obviously had a bakery, and my husband made a three-tiered Chuck E. Cheese cake for his birthday,” said Buddy’s wife, Lisa. “It was like 30 kids and we had to shut down half the Chuck E. Cheese.”
