Jordan Peterson’s wife, Missy Peterson, married the football coach in 2011. The Texas couple has three children, the youngest born in 2019. Jordan Peterson, the former coach of the Kansas Jayhawks, said goodbye to his team after four seasons. The defensive coordinator will now serve as the co-cornerbacks coach at Texas A&M.
Jordan, who graduated from Texas A&M in 2009, returns to his second position there. Jordan, a former safety, was named to the All-Big 12 Academic First Team twice. His coaching career has included stops at Fresno State, New Mexico and most recently at the University of Kansas. This is the second time that Coach Elko has hired a coach from the University of Kansas. He previously hired Collin Klein, the offensive coordinator at KSU.

Last year, on Mother’s Day, Jordan tweeted a picture of Missy with their three girls, all dressed in white. The couple’s first child, Ellie Rose Peterson, was born on April 5, 2014. Previously, Jordan posted numerous photos of his firstborn on his X account to wish her a happy birthday. The couple’s second child, Emery, was born in early 2018. On May 11, 2019, Missy took to her Facebook to reveal that they were going to be parents for the third time. Missy was spotted holding Emery and flashing sonogram images.
Ellie was spotted holding a sign that read: “BABY SHARK ROCK ROCK ROCK SEPTEMBER 2019.” On September 27, 2019, the Peterson family welcomed their third child, Everly. Previously, the Kansas football team featured the Peterson family in a Mother’s Day movie. Jordan can be seen in the video quizzing her three girls about their mother’s favorite foods and activities. Emery, the middle child, was quick to answer both questions. She also mentioned that her mother’s favorite activity is photography.
Coaching career of Jordan Peterson
Coach Jordan Peterson graduated from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2009 and a master’s degree a year later. Peterson, a safety, had 81 tackles and broke up 15 passes during his tenure at Texas A&M. Jordan spent two years as a graduate assistant with the Aggies before joining Fresno State.
Jordan became the Outside Linebackers coach at Fresno State, where he helped lead safety Phillip Thomas to Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors. Peterson coached Fresno for five seasons, leading the Bulldogs to three straight trips, including a Mountain West championship berth in 2014 and a Mountain West championship in 2013. After leaving Fresno, Jordan was named New Mexico’s safeties coach. In 2019, he was promoted to defense coordinator.
He joined Kansas in 2020 and started as their safeties coach. In 2021, he was promoted to defensive analyst, which increased his duties. He was promoted to defensive coordinator at Kansas in late 2023, but the promotion didn’t last long.
