A small chihuahua rescued from a trash can is now in safe hands

On October 27, a worker at Santa Rosa Junior College discovered a 2-pound puppy, severely injured, abandoned in a parking lot near the facility.

The little chihuahua was in excruciating pain because his front legs were injured.

Luckily, the adorable dog was taken to Sonoma County Animal Services for treatment, where his legs were in pink casts.

The Chihuahua, now known as Darla, is 14 weeks old and weighs just 2 pounds. She had to have leg surgery and the prognosis is that she will make a full recovery.

According to Dr Dan Famini, who posted her story online, the good news is that she has been raised to continue her recovery and will be ready for adoption once she fully recovers.

What a happy conclusion! Watch the video below. Send this to your friends.
