A Surprise Twist on The Masked Singer’s Disco Night Gives 1 Contestant a Second Chance

Saturday night fever it arrived on wednesday this week when disco took over Masked singer for the final of group A.

Cow, Gazelle and S’more hoped to secure a place in the finals, but only one undercover celebrity could survive the night. Host Nick Cannon reintroduced the Ding Don’t Keep It On bell, which judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke can only ring once during all three group finals.

S’more took to the stage first, introducing a pair of 10-pound dumbbells and cowboy boots in his cue pack.

“It’s like I’m back in boy band bootcamp,” S’more said in the package, adding that on Masked singer he made him feel like “I still belong on the stage.”

The sweet treat tackled “That’s the Way (I Like It)” by KC and The Sunshine Band for his Disco Night selection.

“You make me feel gooey inside,” Nicole, 45, told S’more.

The key that connected S’more to Robin, 46, served as S’more’s additional clue.

“Robin, I’ve been to your house and you have great taste in music and home decor,” S’more told the “Blurred Lines” singer.

Jordan Knight, Ashley Parker Angel, and Kevin Richardson of the Backstreet Boys came as S’more guesses.

The cow continued to rustle about their mother.

“My mom is the strongest person I’ve ever met,” Cow said in his clue packet, which also featured a red traffic light and a soccer ball. “She was my foundation forever and still is. Growing up, I remember my mom working seven jobs at once.”

The farm animal said watching their mom struggle “was hard,” but it made Cow want to use their careers to help their mother.

“It’s always been my dream to find a way to take care of her the way she took care of me,” Cow continued. “The day I was able to support her with my music was the day I felt like I really succeeded.”

Cow covered Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell”.

“That vocal was next level,” Nick, 43, told Cow.

The disco dancer drew out the word “husband” as an additional clue Cow.

“Not my husband, your husband, Jenny,” Cow Jenny, 51, said of her husband Donnie Wahlberg. “This Cow is absolutely a lady, however, I spent some time with your hubby.”

The judges thought Cow could be NE-YO or Usher.

Gazelle is a closed night.

“I was a really brave, performative kid,” Gazelle said in his memo packet. “Every night I would wear a different costume, sit at the top of our stairs and put on a show for my family. But I was definitely the black sheep. My parents were athletes, and my sister was always focused on learning. Despite being so different from them, they always gave me nothing but support.”

The package additionally showed a letter to Ken, Nick and Robin, as well as a magnifying glass looking at the word “mystery”.

Nick announced that after the vote, S’more would be the first to unmask, and Cow and Gazelle would compete in a Battle Royale. When the S’more popped off their marshmallow head, Jenny’s guess about O-Town alum Ashley Parker Angel came up.

Then Taylor Dayne — Season 4’s Popcorn — kicked off the Battle Royale by singing “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor, to which Cow and Gazelle continued to sing.

“I think they might have been the two strongest vocalists we’ve ever had,” Robin said.

Ken (54) agreed. “This is the hardest Battle Royale we’ve ever had simply because these are two of the most excellent voices we’ve ever had,” he said.

The judges eventually decided to let the Cow into the finals and send home the Gazelle, but before the antelope could reveal its identity, Ken rang Ding Dong Keep It On.

“I can’t let Gazelle go!” Ken said.

Gazelle appreciated the second chance. “I’m so emotional right now,” Gazela admitted. “Thank you so much for saving me.”
