Aaron Latham Passed Away At The Age Of 77

Aaron Latham, husband of Leslie Stahl, died on July 23 at the age of 78. He was a patient at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania at the time of his death. In 2020, Aaron was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and contracted Covid-19. Leslie told the news station that both she and Aaron got sick at the same time. Leslie also mentioned that she had to go to the hospital after contracting pneumonia and that she recovered quickly. As for her husband, she said the virus worsened the severity of his Parkinson’s disease.

Aaron Latham was a famous novelist, screenwriter and journalist. He has written for Rolling Stone, Esquire, Talk and The New York Times, among others. Latham was born on October 3, 1943, in Spur, Dickens County, West Texas, near Lubbock, to Cecil Clyde Latham and Annie Launa Cozby. He attended Catalina High School in Tucson, Arizona before enrolling at Princeton University in New Jersey.

Aaron worked as a writer for The Washington Post and wrote about the Watergate affair for New York magazine. Latham’s piece inspired the film Urban Cowboy, which he co-wrote with director James Bridges. In 2003, he also co-authored the book for the Broadway musical adaptation.
