Abby Hand’s cause of death related to the accident
Twenty-year-old Abby Hand, a resident of Tifton, Georgia, was killed in a car accident on Highway 82. This tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the value of road safety and the unpredictability of life. Lawren Hand and Brook Crumley Hand were the parents of Abby, who was born on December 8, 2002 and, after graduating from Abraham Baldwin College (ABAC) and graduating from Berrien High School in 2021, was planning to enroll in the winter semester of 2024 at Valdosta State University. At ABAC, Abby was actively involved in the Sigma Alpha sorority and valued the friendship of her fellow members. Abby loved animals and pets more than professors.
Her favorite things to do were crafts, gardening, working on old projects and frequent trips to Fernandina Beach, Florida. Her wide range of interests reflected her vibrant and complex personality. Tragically, a cotton picker was involved in a crash on Highway 82 that killed ABAC student Abby Hand. Despite Abby’s strong spirit and innate warrior nature, the impact of the accident proved immense. Unfortunately, Macon Hospital pronounced her dead. The community is saddened by the death of a strong and passionate person as a result of an unexpected and tragic tragedy.
All will honor Abby’s life with a memorial mass on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Mark Stone will officiate at the funeral, which will be held at the Tifton Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. After the event, there will be a grave monument at the city’s Enigma cemetery. On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 6 to 8 p.m., friends are welcome to express their condolences at the same location. Pallbearers Mitchell Maluda, Zachary Ware, Thomas Snipes, Sam Snipes, Jake Purvis, Tanner Snipes and Ronald Harbin will assist during the memorial service. The Crumley and Hand families are incredibly appreciative of all the well wishes and prayers they received while Abby was in the hospital.
