Abhay started playing squash at a very young age at the Indian Squash and Triathlon Academy in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In 2019, he made his debut at the South Asian Games in Nepal and won the men’s singles bronze medal. In May 2022, he participated in the Challenger Tour in Lorient, France for the first time and achieved his first victory in the PSA World Tour.

In November 2022, he represented the Indian national team in the 21st Asian Squash Team Championship held in South Korea and became the first Indian squash team to win the Asian Squash Team Championship.

In December 2022, he entered the top 100 squash players with a world ranking of 74th; in January 2022, he ranked 144th. It got to the point where I thought, if I put so much into this sport, this sport could at least make me happy. but it is not the truth. Maybe then, if I leave, it won’t be forever. Maybe I’ll try to come back at some point. “
