Abhinandan Pathak was born in 1963 in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh (age 56 in 2019). He studied at Shishu Niketan School in Saharanpur till fifth grade and then joined SM Inter College in Saharanpur. Abhinandan received his MA (M.A.) from Jain Degree College, Saharanpur.

In 1999, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Chaurasi in Saharanpur but lost. He ran in the 2012 parliamentary election but was ultimately defeated again. He is associated with the Republican Party of India (Athawale), a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led New Democratic Alliance. He came into the limelight after he began campaigning for Narendra Modi in Varanasi. He reportedly walked to every corner of Varanasi in 90 days. Because of his resemblance to Narendra Modi, Abhinandan has become a target of people dissatisfied with Modi’s rule.
