In 2016, he was appointed as Mumbai Audit Officer. His continuous attendance at the SSC examination paid off in 2017 as he successfully cleared the examination and was appointed as an officer of the Income Tax Department, Dehradun. Although he was satisfied with his job, the salary he received was not enough to end his hardships. As he failed to renew the lease agreement for his Delhi apartment, the landlord asked them to vacate the apartment. As a result, his family had no choice but to leave the apartment. To buy a new house, his father borrowed Rs. 70 lakh from the bank and an additional Rs. 40 lakhs from a friend. However, he had trouble repaying the loan on time. Abinai’s salary was not enough to pay the loan, leaving him heavily in debt. As a result, both his parents faced health problems.
