Abhishek was born on Thursday, February 5, 1976, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (47 years old; as of 2023). He received his primary and secondary education from Jamnabainasi School, Mumbai, and Bombay Scots School, Mumbai. He then moved to the Modern School in Vasant Vihar, Delhi to complete his high school education. After completing his studies, Abhishek went to Aiglon College in Switzerland to complete his graduation. Abhishek suffered from dyslexia (a learning disability) during his childhood. He also attended business classes at Boston University, but dropped out to pursue an acting career.
Abhishek worked as an agent for LIC before entering Bollywood.

Abhishek started his career in 2000 with JP Dutta’s war drama Refugee. Since then, he has taken on a series of films, which have average box office performance. Later, Abhishek starred in “Dhoom”, which was his first commercial success. His performance in the film was appreciated.
He subsequently appeared in “Yuva” (2004), “Sarkar” (2005) and “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” (2006). In 2007, Bachchan played the role of Dhirubhai Ambani in the drama film Guru.
Later, he appeared in comedy films like “Bunty Aur Babli”, “Bluffmaster!”, “Dostana”, “Happy New Year” and “Housefull 3”.
