fact
- He enjoys photography and traveling.
- While working as an Assistant Director in the film Mersal (2017), Abi Hassan earned a salary of Rs. Ten thousand per month. Talking about this experience, he said——
Before “Messal,” my view of movies was only from an actor’s perspective. But when you are an assistant director earning Rs 10,000 a month and sometimes you may not get your per diem after a hard day’s work…(sigh)…then you realize how hard it is for people in the film industry. I learned these things. “
- His father was the head of the acting department of Blue Ocean Film and Television Academy, where he was studying for an acting diploma.
- He has been a huge fan of Vikram since childhood and wanted to become an actor like him. Talking about Vikram, he said-
He is extremely versatile and goes to great lengths to transform himself into the characters he plays. “
- After working as an assistant director, he had to sit idle for a few months until he got an offer for the film Kadaram Kondan (2019).
- Unlike most actors, he thought nothing of capitalizing on his father’s reputation in the film industry. When asked why, he said –
I’m not a person who likes to do that. I am proud to be one of the sons of the versatile actor Nassar. But I don’t think I should take advantage of his name. I wanted to be bigger and make my dad proud. A lot of people don’t know that I’m his son, which is an advantage for me. Whenever I watch one of his movies in the cinema, I hear a lot of audience members say “Nassar did a very good job” at the end of the movie. That’s enough for me. If possible, I wanted him to experience the same feeling. “
- He is politically inclined towards the ‘Makkal Needhi Maiam’ party.
