During Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, Little Miss Sunshine actress Abigail Breslin opened up about her tragic past abusive relationship on Saturday. She described her two-year experience of surviving domestic violence on Instagram. Breslin previously shared on Instagram that she suffered from PTSD due to being sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend. In both cases, she did not reveal the identity of her abusive boyfriend.
Breslin wrote in the post:
“I was in an abusive relationship for two years. It started off great and I was completely hooked. Unfortunately, the attacker took advantage of my innocence and purity, and As a result, the relationship turns violent.”
She describes the terrible abuse she experienced and how she had to hide the truth in the relationship.
Breslin said, “Every day I was beaten up, locked in a room and had to pretend that everything was fine and normal while I was badly injured… injuries that most people don’t even realize. .” She was subjected to both verbal and physical abuse by her abuser.
“In addition to the physical injuries, there was a great deal of contempt, humiliation and severe verbal abuse.”
Here, she would like to thank everyone who has supported her during this difficult time.
“These two years have been the loneliest time of my life.” I am forever grateful for the help of my family and friends, who were so important and invaluable in getting me out of this terrible situation.”
