ACTRESS and singer Miho Nakayama was tragically found dead in the bathtub at her home – hours before she was due to take to the stage at a Christmas concert.
The 54-year-old was known for her role in the 1995 film Love Letter and her success as a singer in the 1980s and 90s.

The Japanese star failed to show up for work on Friday which led a member of her team to her home – where they tragically found her unresponsive.
She was found sitting upright in the bathtub, local media reported.
A member of staff called paramedics who reportedly pronounced her dead at the scene.
Miho was due to perform at a Christmas show in Osaka today – but it was canceled before her death was announced.
Bad health was cited as the reason for the cancellation.
A statement released by her agency on its website confirmed her tragic death.
It said: “We are stunned by the suddenness of this event.”
The cause of her death has not been confirmed.
Miho unfortunately left behind the son she shared with her ex-husband musician Hitonari Tsuji, who is under his guardianship.
The couple married in 2002 after dating for eight months before moving to Paris where they had a son.
In 2014, they divorced and Miho returned to Japan.
Miho was known as one of the most popular Japanese teen idols during the 1980s and had a successful acting career.
The star was the lead in the popular 1995 film Love Letter about a grieving widow’s letters with a stranger.
The film was a huge hit at the box office – garnering attention in Japan and the rest of the world.
This role brought Miha several awards for best actress.
In her successful career, she recorded 22 studio albums and had an incredible eight number one singles on the Oricon chart.
Two of these hits sold over a million copies each.
Miho’s younger sister is retired pop star and actress Shinobu Nakayama, and he also has a younger brother, Tomoaki.
