Facts/Trivia
- In June 2001, FBI agents raided the Bilzerian home in Tampa, Florida, charging Paul Bilzerian with market manipulation, which a neighbor called “pure intimidation.” Four months after Paul’s arrest, his wife, Adam’s mother, Terri Steffen, filed more than 1,000 pages of documents with the court and asked Bilzerian to take two days off to attend Adam’s high school graduation, but the request was denied.
- In an interview, he questioned whether he could fulfill his dream of becoming an Army Green Beret, saying,
How can you go and fight for your country when they are doing this? [your father]”‘ah?’
- His father’s arrest and what happened to his family made him politically aware as he grew up. The 2004 US presidential election, which resulted in the re-election of George W. Bush, was seen as a bad omen for the future freedoms of the American Bill of Rights and he decided to emigrate. In 2007, he bought a home in St. Kitts and Nevis and a year later, he became a citizen of the country through “citizenship by investment” and renounced his US citizenship; he was one of 231 Americans who renounced their citizenship that year. Speaking about this in an interview, he said:
When George W. Bush got elected the second time, I felt like the country was going to go into such a slump. They were eliminating freedoms and restricting the Bill of Rights. It was going to be hard to keep yourself out of trouble. If the IRS thought you did something wrong and audited you, they would make your life a nightmare… They would crush you.”
- In 2018, Adam and his brother Dan Bilzerian received Armenian citizenship.
- He ranks 1,120th on the U.S. all-time money list, 151st on the Nevada all-time money list, and 570th in popularity.
- He loves dogs very much and has a pet dog named “Chloe”.
- In 2020, during Azerbaijan’s attack on the Nagorno-Karabakh region, Adam, along with his father and brother, donated $250,000 to the Hayastan All-Armenia Fund, which is currently raising funds to support Artsakh’s attack.
