Peaty tested positive for Covid on Monday, just hours after winning the silver medal in the men’s 100m breaststroke.
He did not participate in the 4x100m medley relay races yesterday – but he returned to the pool this morning.
The three-time Olympic gold medalist competed in the men’s 4x100m, qualifying fifth fastest alongside Joe Litchfield, Matt Richards and Oliver Morgan.
But he will not take part in the evening’s mixed final – with Kathleen Dawson, James Wilby, Anna Hopkin and Duncan Scott selected.
Peaty was brutally honest when describing his physical struggles this week.
He said: “This is probably the worst week of my life in terms of the state of my body and that’s not an exaggeration.
“It all came at once. Since Covid, I just wake up every day with a different thing.
“The medical team was brilliant. I think it’s just a victory to get on the starting block there.

“Hopefully it will give my body a good boost for tomorrow.”
According to the BBC, Peaty was also battling an ear infection.

Former world swimming champion Mark Foster had his say on Peaty’s absence from tonight’s final.
The 54-year-old BBC pundit said: “I can only speculate that it’s down to the fact that after a few days of Covid he didn’t feel he was ready. He’s the best in breaststroke.
“The Americans and the Aussies will be tough to beat, but we’re in it and we’re going in with a bang.”
