Addison Rae Gives Dance Lessons to Mystery Star of Nerds’ Super Bowl Commercial — Watch (Exclusive)

The pop star, actress and social media personality appears in a teaser for Nerds’ upcoming Super Bowl commercial, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal. In it, Rae teaches a mysterious student — and the ultimate game-day commercial star — the dance moves for a rendition of Irene Cara’s 1983 hit “What a Feeling.”

The Thanksgiving star plays a vinyl record of a classic pop song and shows off her dancing skills, tossing her hair and doing splits as she works hard to help an unseen student.

“This could work,” Rae, 24, says, expressing faith in her trainee as she nibbles on a bag of Nerds Gummy Clusters at the end of the video.

“I can’t say too much about who I’m training, but I think it’s going to be a very exciting reveal,” he tells PEOPLE. “Obviously I had to work really hard to train him, so we’ll see how the star does in the final performance.”

Working with the student was not easy. During the teaser, Rae reminds the dancer-in-training to “smile” and describes their effort as “sweet” before she was eventually satisfied.

“It took some work,” jokes Rae. – Technique is very important to me.

Geek’s upcoming Super Bowl ad marks the brand’s first ad to air during the big game. The spotlight will be on Nerds Gummy Clusters, featuring classic tart, crunchy candies wrapped around a sweet, chewy center.

“I’ve always been a big fan of Nerds in general since I was a little girl. I remember going to the candy store and I would have loved to get the little boxes, and they were so cute,” Rae recalls.

The “I Got It Bad” singer’s love for the candy brand only grew when she was introduced to Nerds Gummy Clusters.

“I’m a big fan of combining textures in something I eat, and this is crunchy and chewy, and I’m obsessed. I literally ate bags on set,” she says. “Everybody said, ‘You should probably slow down because you’re going to have to eat a lot of this.’ And I say, ‘I’m just making sure I’m ready.'”

Viewers should stay tuned as the mystery dancer’s identity will be revealed when the Super Bowl Nerds commercial premieres in the coming weeks. The entire video will be broadcast during the big game on February 11.
