He attended CMS High School, Mundakayam and St. Joseph’s High School, Peruvanthanam (2012). He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Baselius College, Kottayam. He obtained his Master’s degree in Political Science from Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, Kochi, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University (2017). He is a Research Master in International Relations and Political Science (2019) and a PhD Scholar in Political Science from Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, with a research focus on the European refugee crisis.

Adoney’s research papers have been published in several national and international research journals. He has been the guest speaker at various Speech, Debate, Best Manager, Best Person and RJ Hunt competitions in Kerala. During college, he won many awards in inter-college speech and debate competitions such as Sister Savio Speech Competition, CM Stephen Speech Competition, Thazhathukunnel Aaron S Cherian Memorial Speech Competition and KMEA Speech Competition.

- His other name is Adoney John Peter.
- Bigg Boss Malayalam is hosted by Malayalam actor Mohanlal. During a conversation with Mohanlal on the show, Adoney was asked about the meaning of his name. Adoney replied that the name is Hebrew and means “the utmost in beauty, desire and holiness”.
- His biggest support, he said, was his family, adding that his grandmother and teachers also helped him develop his public speaking skills.
- He is a part of the YouTube channel ‘The Argumentative Mallu’ which was launched in April 2020. The channel consists of students from colleges across Kerala. The students post explanatory videos on contemporary and socially relevant topics on the channel with the aim of helping young people develop scientific temperament and critical thinking skills.
