On the fan podcast Love in the Age of Hydra , Greg was asked about the whole canon controversy surrounding the ABC series, with the host mentioning that Kevin Feige has yet to clarify where the show falls in the timeline, despite Cole Sen has passed away. The actor responded with the following:
Clark Gregg: [Coulson isn’t dead] On every timeline!Look, you’re playing in a multiverse scenario with different timelines, and you’re not like, “I don’t know, there’s a lot of multiverses here…” People get really upset about whether things fit into the setting. [or not]I like Kevin [like] Oz.
The host also proposed Avengers: Secret Wars, as it is unclear who will participate in the sixth phase.When they brought up that fans would like to see Greg reprise his Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The MCU veteran shared the following:
Clark Gregg: It’s really sweet… I think I just love the connection to Coulson because he was an early participant in this and the human face of the world. But their standards for people who feel that way have grown, and there’s a lot of… It’s hard for me to say, ‘Yeah, that’s okay, I had 10 great years, maybe 12,’ but, yeah.
