Renowned Bangladeshi actor Ahmed Rubel passed away on 7 February 2024 at the age of 55 after suffering cardiac arrest in the evening when he was on his way to his latest film’s screening event at Star Cineplex in Bashundhara City Shopping Complex. He left his home ‘Chayabithi’ in Gazipur driving the car to Bashundhara City. He suffered cardiac arrest and fell down when he was walking along the walkway in the basement where he parked his car after reaching the venue around 5:15 pm. He sustained injuries as he hit the nearby wall. He was made to sit on a chair and poured water on his head in primary care. Masadul Haque said in his statement, “We thought that he collapsed after being senseless. This is why we were pouring water on his head. He was still in his senses and experiencing hiccups.” He was rushed to the emergency healthcare center on the first floor and later he was shifted to nearby Square Hospital on a CNG-RUN auto rickshaw after getting the suggestion of the on-duty physician at the emergency health center. In the tests, it was found that he was dead before being in the hospital. Bangladeshi film actress and model Jaya Ahsan expressed, “I still can’t believe Rubel bhai is no more. I don’t think I can accept the news of his death until I see him for myself.” “Today was meant to be a day of joy and celebration, marking the premiere of our film ‘Peyarar Subash’. I had envisioned all of us watching the film together. Even Rubel bhai came to join the viewing, although, sadly, he couldn’t stay until the end. I firmly believe that an artist remains immortal through their work, and Rubel bhai will forever be immortalized through his contributions to the industry.” “I am certain he is watching the film from Afar. My deepest respect for the artist, with whom I have collaborated on numerous projects. He was, without a doubt, an immensely talented person.” “I never envisioned Rubel bhai leaving us like this.
