Anyone interested in the history of Comic-Con and other comic conventions should check out Ahoy Comics’ upcoming titles: against and againstWhether it’s Comic-Con itself or any of the countless other cons comics around the world, each convention has some universal truth that comic fans (and even pros working on comic books) can understand. Ahoy Comics plans to explore these absurdities in comedic style (as it often does in its productions) in a brand new miniseries.
Writer Paul Cornell (Which doctor?) and artist Marika Cresta (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra) will team up to bring readers a satirical take on the comic book industry and its conventions. The series will be a five-part tragedy titled against and against, will revolve around a fictional convention called Vista Al Mar Comic Con. The series is currently scheduled for release on July 12, ahead of Comic-Con International.
