Ahsanuddin Amanullah is an Indian lawyer and former judge of the Patna High Court and the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He is also the state attorney general of Bihar. On February 4, 2023, President Drupadi Murmu appointed him as a Supreme Court judge.

Ahsanuddin Amanullah passed the Bihar Bar Council examination on September 27, 1991 and started practicing in the Patna High Court. He represents clients not only before the Patna High Court but also in the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, Jharkhand High Court and Calcutta High Court in matters relating to constitutional, civil, criminal, services, cooperative societies, tax, labour, companies. and forest. Ahsanuddin Amanullah specializes in constitutional law and service law. Apart from appearing before the High Court and Supreme Court, he has also appeared before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Commercial Tax Tribunal, Board of Revenue, District Courts and Consumer Disputes Redressal Authority. The Bihar government appointed him as Government Advocate, a post he held from August 2010 until June 20, 2011, when he became a judge of the Patna High Court. From 2006 to 2011, he played an important role in drafting and reviewing several bills entrusted to him by the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He has represented many cases related to social issues in court pro bono, meaning free or for a low fee. At the special request of the Advocate General of Maharashtra, Asanuddin Amanullah has been appointed by the Advocate General of Bihar as the Commissioner of Police, Maharashtra, Maharashtra Police and Mumbai Police representative. Later, he served the Patna High Court as amicus curiae. Later, he was appointed as Special Adviser to the Government of India in the Income Tax Division of the Jharkhand High Court, Ranchi. Later, he was appointed by the Patna High Court as a member of the Criminal Appeal Panel of the Patna Legal Aid Board, which was later renamed as the High Court Legal Services Board. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees of Bihar Judicial Academy, Patna. He was later appointed as the Chancellor of Chanakya National Law University, Patna. In 2021, a five-judge special court ruled 4:1 and ordered the demolition of Waqf Bhavan built near the Patna High Court. Special bench member Ahsanuddin Amanullah took the decision against the demolition of the building and said demolition of the building would be a severe punishment as the building was not illegal. The structure is irregular and not illegal and defects can be eliminated, especially by keeping the height of the structure within 10 meters in accordance with Article 21 of the bye-laws. The bench further held that the company was a government company and its architect would be deemed to be a government architect and as per Rule 8(A) of the Bye-laws, once he prepared the map of the building, there was no need to obtain the PMC’s Permission is given, even assuming the building is in place. If approval is obtained from the competent authority, a map of the building is likely to be submitted to the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) for post hoc approval of the building. “
He served as the Chairman of Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA). On October 10, 2021, Ahsanuddin Amanullah was posted as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

There, he was appointed as the Executive Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority on November 8, 2021. He served as the judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court till June 20, 2022, after which he was transferred back to the Bench of the Patna High Court. On February 4, 2023, President Droupadi Murmu cleared Ahsanuddin Amanullah, along with four other judges of other high courts as India The reputation of a Supreme Court judge. He will be sworn in as a Supreme Court judge on February 6, 2023. He will serve on the Supreme Court until May 11, 2028.

A lawyer files a contempt petition against Ahsanuddin Amanullah
In September 2018, a lawyer named Alka Verma submitted a petition for Somotu recognition to Ahsanuddin Amanullah.
