Until 2002, he frequently traveled between Delhi and Jalandhar, finally settling in Chotta Mandir, also known as Imperial Estate, on MG Road in New Delhi.
During the 1990s, he established the Shiv Mandir, now known as Bade Mandir, in the Bade mining area of Chhatarpur, where his samadhi is preserved. In addition, he established several ashrams around the world.
There are three famous Guruji temples in India that can be visited by the public. The Badda Temple in Delhi is one such temple that attracts a large number of devotees every week. It has a huge granite lingam on top, symbolizing the Hindu god Shiva. Jalandhar Mandir is located in Punjab and is open every month on Poranmashi (full moon night).
Dugri Mandir is located in Malerkotla, Sangrur, Punjab and is open on the first Sunday of every month.
In 1995, Guruji was headquartered in Greater Kailash -1, S Sector, New Delhi. From there, he moved to Empire Estate on Gurgaon Road, Mehrauli, Delhi. Today, neither the Grand Kailash-1 residence in S Block nor the Imperial Estate are rarely open to the public. Guru ji also had a monastery in Bombay.
Guruji temples are now spread across various countries, including the United States. The largest temples in the United States are located in Somerset and Edison, New Jersey.
teaching method
Guruji inspired people to focus on their pain through meditation. He did not promote idolatry, nor did he prescribe any particular customs to his followers. Unlike many gurus, he did not give pravachans (religious sermons) or suggest complex rituals. Instead, he promoted practical learning and encouraged his followers to establish a direct connection with him through meditation and prayer. Guruji emphasized the healing properties of prasāda (religious offerings) and prevented waste. His devotees believe that langar prasad (communal meal), chai prasad (tea offering) and jal prasad (water offering) prepared and served in front of his picture will continue to be blessed by him.
dispute
the rape of his nephew.
According to allegations, in 2021, “Guruji”‘s nephew Navdeep Singh (also known as Gaurav) sexually assaulted a woman named Asha. Asha claimed that she first met Gaurav at a temple with her family in 2013, and he gradually started paying more attention to her.
In March 2019, Gaurav reportedly called Asha to discuss his dreams for her and the future of the sect. He asked Asha to meet him on April 4, 2019 and send a car to pick her up. Asha was allegedly taken to a farmhouse near the temple and Gaurav told her that Guruji had appeared in his dream and told him that Asha was destined to become his wife and give birth to a boy in the continuation of the Guru Kat’s legacy. Gaurav allegedly drugged Asha, making her feel lifeless and dizzy. He then took her to another room, chanted “shlokas” in front of the “havan”, performed the “marriage” ceremony and then allegedly raped her. Over the next few months, Gaurav allegedly took Asha to the farmhouse or a nearby hotel, where he assured her that his divorce would be finalized soon. In September 2019, Asha revealed her relationship with Gaurav when her husband asked her about her frequent outings. Her husband filed for divorce and when Gaurav found out that Asha had informed her husband, he reportedly started avoiding her and later threatened her. After recovering from the alleged ordeal, Asha went to Vikaspuri police station on September 5, 2020 to file a complaint. A final verdict is still pending.
