Before meeting Neil Bhatt, Aishwarya Sharma was in a six-year relationship with college classmate Rahul Pandya. They met while studying in the same college in Ujjain, fell in love during an inter-school match, and started dating in 2011. According to Rahul, Aishwarya’s father was against their relationship and therefore later sent Aishwarya to Pune for further studies, but they met there anyway. Talking about this, Rahul mentioned in an interview that Aishwarya moved to Mumbai in 2014 to pursue an acting career. A year before marrying Neil, she called Rahul, who thought that she needed time to think about their future; however, he was shocked when he learned that she was marrying Neil Bhatt. In the interview, Rahul mentioned that the incident made him depressed and even had suicidal thoughts. Rahul Pandya said,
She called me a year before we got married and asked me what I was doing and how I was doing. We were headstrong at the time and I understood that she needed time. I was shocked to hear that she had moved on. I had come out of a very low period where I felt betrayed and had suicidal thoughts at times. I didn’t wish her any bad, that’s how I am as a lover.”
