Aishwarya Verma is from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, after which he prepared to appear for the UPSC examination. Despite being an electrical engineer, he chose Geography as an optional subject in the UPSC examination instead of Electrical Engineering. His hard work paid off and he became the fourth topper of the UPSC exam held in 2021.

- After passing UPSC, he was asked what was his reaction after the results came out. He said,
It took me some time to digest this information. It’s great to see my name at number 4 on the outstanding list. It is not correct to study for 16-16 hours continuously every day.
- After the results were announced, everyone read the list of toppers and called him/her. Twitter praised the power of women as the top four were all women. A reporter later tweeted to clarify that Aishwarya Verma, who was ranked fourth, was a male candidate.

- In a brief interview with Aaj Tak, he also talked about how he was teased growing up because of his name, saying:
People always make fun of me because of my name. I’ve been trying to explain this to everyone. I thought that one day when I grow up I will tell people on TV that my name is Aishwarya and it is not Aishwarya.
