Profession

Get involved in politics

In March 2003, a gangster named Bindu Singh demanded a ransom of 2.5 million rupees from him and his father and threatened to kill them if they did not give him the money. He also told them that he had killed a doctor in Kadam Kuan, Patna, but the doctor did not give him ransom. When Alok sought help from gangster-turned-politician Suraj Bhan Singh, Singh told him that he should enter politics to clean up the system as the gangsters were protected by politicians. This idea inspired Ajay, who was active in student politics, to enter politics in 2003.

electoral politics

In 2003, a political party in his hometown Chainpur denied him a political ticket on caste grounds. In the 2005 Bihar Assembly elections, he contested from the Chainpur assembly seat on the ticket of Ram Vilas Paswan’s party Janata Dal (LJP); however, he finished fourth , received 9683 votes. In the 2010 Bihar Assembly elections, he once again contested for the Chainpur Assembly seat on behalf of Mayawati-led Samajwadi Party (BSP); however, he came second with 32,930 votes.
