We shot the 10-episode series over several months in a small dark room, shot by shot, scene by scene. I thought that was the beginning of our journey, not the end.”

Ajay Sharma died on May 5, 2021, at the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi. He had been undergoing treatment for several days after being diagnosed with COVID-19. Many celebrities from the film industry took to social media to share condolences over the death of Ajay Sharma. Actor Shriya Pilgaonkar said she was “shocked” by Sharma’s death, writing,
Devastated is not enough to describe what has happened. We lost Ajay Sharma today. He was not only a very good editor, but an absolute talent. None of this has made any sense.”
Actor-director Anand Tiwari, who worked with Ajay Sharma on Bandish Bandits, penned a heart-warming post on Instagram. He wrote:
Today I lost one of the most artistically gifted partners I’ve ever had in my life. We did so much together, and I still have so much to learn from him.”

- At the time of his death, he was working as an editor for two upcoming Punjabi films, Tu Hovein Main Hovan starring Jimmy Sheirgill and PR starring Harbhajan Mann.
