Pawar started playing kabaddi professionally in 2017 after joining the Mahindra & Mahindra corporate team, which participated in several state-level kabaddi tournaments. After one year with them, he impressed scouts with his blitzing ability. In the 2018 PKL auction, he was selected by Jaipur Pink Panthers for Rs 6.60 lakh.
In 2018, he made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 and scored a total of 75 points in 17 games, becoming the team’s second-highest scorer. He also recorded two Super Raids and five Super Tens during that season. In the seventh season of PKL in 2019, he was retained by the Jaipur Pink Panthers and scored 21 points in 14 games. Ajinkya Pawar was Maharashtra’s top performer in the National Senior Kabaddi Championship 2021. In seven games, he scored 48 points, contributing to the team’s bronze medal finish and was awarded the Raider of the Year award for his performance.
In the 2021 PKL auction, he was bought by Tamil Thalaiva for Rs 1.95 crore. In 18 games in the eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League, he scored 114 points.
In 2022, he was retained by the Tamil Thalaiva team for 3.3 million rupees to participate in the ninth season of the Professional Kabaddi League and scored 141 points in 22 games.
