Profession
Model
He started his career as a model and later appeared in various print advertisements. His first print ad was for Levi’s jeans. In 1999, he appeared in Falguni Pathak’s Hindi music video “Maine Payal Hai Chhankai”. In an interview, he shared how he got his first modeling assignment and music video. He said,
I went to an inter-school event and Levi’s jeans were looking for models. I was chosen by them. During that time, the casting director of a video (directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru for Falguni Pathak) asked me if I was interested and I agreed, even though I didn’t even know what the video was about. It caused a huge stir. I earned 4,000 rupees through one video and that was enough. “
He then appeared in some Hindi music videos. In 2001, he participated in the Mr. Grasim India competition and won the title. After a few years as a model, he got bored and turned to theater. In an interview, he said about this incident,
I worked as a model for about three or five years and got tired of it. It was getting a bit stale for me, going up and down the ramp, changing clothes, just didn’t inspire me. It wasn’t stable enough for me; I wanted to do something that moved me more. So I started working in theatre, and learning about acting and understanding myself on stage really made a big difference. “
television
Later, the Balaji Telefilms team spotted him in one of his music videos. The team offered him a TV series, but it was shelved. In 2004, he was once again invited by Balaji Television and Films to shoot a TV series. He accepted the offer and made his debut in the popular Hindi television series “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”, in which he played the role of Abhishek. Some of his other Hindi television series include “Vaidehi” (2006), “Chand Ke Paar Chalo” (2008), “Pyaar Ka Bandhan” (2009) and “Sanskaar Laxmi” (2011).
After appearing in several TV series, he stopped appearing in TV series. In an interview, he shared why. He said,
I was almost reaching the top of the ladder and the only name ahead of me was Ronit Roy. I quit my job and turned down several job offers because it didn’t do anything for me. At that point, there was a sudden shift and a lot of people who had previously worked in television moved on to movies, leaving us with rejections from small-town actors who were very disrespectful and didn’t speak well. I just don’t feel like this is the place for me anymore. I also lost a lot of my TV jobs. I went through a lot of struggles to get the right screen space on my TV; I had people say bad things about me. I couldn’t find a job and ended up losing a lot of jobs. But I’m sure it won’t let me down. I turned to films, but, yeah, I had a really hard time because no one wanted to let me be a part of anything. For five years I had to sit at home and do nothing, which was very, very difficult. “
Later, he worked as an anchor and VJ on the MTV channel to support himself financially. In 2016, he participated as a contestant in the reality TV show “Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7”.

In 2021, he essayed the role of Lord Hanuman in the Hindi web series “Ramyug” which aired on MX Player. In an interview, he said of the role:
I’ve never done anything like this before. Kunal Kohli approached me for this role. I told him that if I do something like this, it will be worth it. In fact, I was in contention for the role of Ravan. But he wanted me to play Hanuman. Physical transition has been an interesting and challenging journey for me. I realized what my body could handle. I like to do things that challenge me. No matter what you do, you won’t always succeed, but you’ll try your best anyway. This is what I strive to maintain and achieve. “
