Akhil Marar is an Indian director who works primarily in the Malayalam entertainment industry. He is known for directing the Malayalam film Oru Thathvika Avalokanam (2021). He is also famous for winning Bigg Malayalam Season 5.

Even though the shoot was scheduled to take 40 days, there was pressure to complete the shoot in 30 and 25 days. Some parts of the script were shortened and it was ultimately completed in 30 days. After the film was edited, the producer brought 10 people to watch the film and completed the first edit just to rush the editing. There are many comments after watching the undubbed video file. When I had to resist, I became arrogant and ungrateful. Just like that, the producer gave the order not to put me on the editing table. “

In 2023, Akhil made his television debut as a participant in Season 5 of Asianet and Disney+ Hotstar reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam; the show was hosted by actor Mohanlal.

In the finale of the reality show on July 2, 2023, Akhil emerged as the winner and received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh. The runner-up position was won by Reneesha Rahiman, while Junaiz VP was declared the second runner-up of the show.

I don’t have a project in Kerala that I despise so much. I have never watched even five minutes of Bigg Boss in my life. Even better, I went to Lulu Mall and picked up four people in the middle of the road. Not many people came to see it. “
- After completing his undergraduate degree, Akhil worked as a representative for a medical company. Later, he moved to another medical company as a manager. However, after the breakup, he decided to quit his job.
