Akhil Sheoran developed an interest in sports at a very young age. Growing up in a place where shooting was a popular sport, he started focusing on shooting in eighth standard because his school had a shooting range. Once he gets a place in the Indian team, he has to bear the financial responsibility of buying equipment and paying training fees. However, he lacked the necessary funds at the time and was not from a wealthy background. Akhil Sheoran overcame these financial problems with the support of his parents. They took out an interest-based loan to help him obtain the necessary firearms to help him continue training. In 2012, non-profit organization Olympic Gold Quest began supporting Aguirre’s training and preparation. In an interview, Akhil Sheoran talked about how he got into shooting,
Our school offers shooting as an extracurricular activity. So I started the sport early and used the school equipment until 2011 when my dad gave me my first rifle. The next year I won my first medal. I have been supported by Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) since 2012. They made sure I had everything I needed which was a huge help. ”
Akhil continued to focus on shooting while studying at Hansraj College and Jamia Millia Islamia.

Talking about his MBA course at Jamia Millia Islamia, Akhil said:
I chose this course because I wanted to continue working in this field after my shooting career was over. Studying is a focus tool for me when I leave a shoot, and I return refreshed and sharp. ”

Akhil Hiran missed out on qualifying for the Rio Olympics by just 1.2 points at the Asian Olympic Shooting Qualifying Tournament in New Delhi. His hard work paid off as he secured an Olympic berth for India in the men’s No. 3 event at the 2023 ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan. Men’s Rifle Position 3 Competition. His performance earned him an overall score of 450.0 in the final, qualifying him for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Akhil is the fifth Indian to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Akhil Sheoran not only qualified for the Olympics individually, but also teamed up with teammates Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Neeraj Kumar Niraj Kumar won the men’s three-person team gold medal with a total score of 1750 points.

After winning, Ahir said in an interview,
It means a lot to me. We’ve been working on this over the years. The World Series occurs every four years. It’s really satisfying to get a medal and a place. I could have pushed for more silver or gold at the end, although gold is a bit far away. I would like to dedicate this quota to my country and thank my federation, SAI and everyone who has supported me so far. “
