Aleixo Sequeira is an Indian politician and businessman who represents the Nuvem Parliamentary Constituency in the Goa Legislative Assembly as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Aleixo A. Sequeira was born on Wednesday, April 10, 1957, in Mombasa, Kenya (age 66; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Aries. He grew up in the Portuguese Empire of Goa (now part of India). Aleixo Sequeira received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, University of Mumbai in 1979. His father emigrated from India to Africa as a young man and then to Mombasa, Kenya. In 1973, Sequeira’s father returned to India with his wife and began working as a chemist in Goa.

Profession
Aleixo Sequeira joined the Indian Youth Congress in 1974 and held various positions before becoming a member of the Indian National Congress. In the late 1990s, he contested and won the Goa Legislative Assembly elections from the Nuvem constituency. He served as Deputy Speaker of the Third Legislative Assembly of Goa from July 8 to November 19, 1999, and as Cabinet Minister with responsibility for Industry, Information and Technology, Official Languages and Public Grievances.

Sequeira also served as the interim speaker of the Fifth Legislative Assembly of Goa from June 11, 2007 to June 15, 2007. In 2022, he won the Goa Legislative Assembly elections on the Indian National Congress ticket, defeating Arvind de Costa of the Goan Revolutionary Party. Party contestants, led by a margin of 4,397 votes. Aleixo Sequeira joined the BJP government in Goa on September 14, 2022, along with former chief ministers Digambar Kamat, Michael Lobo, Delilah Lobo, Kedar Naik, Sankalp Amonkar, Rajesh Faldesai and Rudolf Fernandes. He was sworn in as a minister in the BJP-led Goa government on November 19, 2023, following the resignation of PDP minister Nilesh Cabral.
