TV and music star Alesha Dixon has opened up to friends about her 18-year-old breakup with partner Azuka Ononye.
The 46-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge confided in them that she and the father of her two young daughters are splitting up.

Despite not being married, Alesha often referred to Azuka, 43, as her “husband” — including once in 2017 on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show on BBC1.
However, they have not been photographed together in public since March when they attended a music event in London’s Soho.
And in recent pictures, Alesha appears to have been trying to hide her left hand where she used to wear the ring on her wedding finger.
In October, she was seen without him in a BGT promotional image.
A friend said: “Alesha quietly told people close to her that she believed their relationship was over and they were going to split.
“She and Azuka have been together for almost two decades, but their relationship has become more friendly.
“They are devoted parents to their girls, who are 11 and 6, and want to focus on making their relationship as amicable as possible for their own good.”
On Monday, choreographer and model Azuka was seen at the premiere of Wicked at London’s Royal Festival Hall with the couple’s older daughter, while Alesha was absent.
On November 15, both were at a performance at the Royal Albert Hall to watch a concert by rapper Nas, but appeared to be sitting on different sides of the hall.
Azuka shared his photo with friends that night, but Alesha was not seen with them.

Alesha last posted a picture of herself with Azuka on her Instagram profile in June.
Two months later, she went solo to the GRM Gala celebrating black British music and UK entertainment.
Former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha met Azuka in 2006 following her short-lived marriage to So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey in 2005, when he admitted to a relationship with singer Javine Hylton.
She hired Azuka, also a creative director, as a dancer for her singing tour.

Speaking about the beginning of their relationship, Alesha said she was “playing hard to get” before she suffered an injury that left Azuka treating her.
She added: “I had surgery on my foot and I couldn’t walk. He literally slept on the floor, watched over me every day.
“I was just looking at him and thinking: ‘That was better or worse, wasn’t it?’ I looked at the balance. He slept on the floor because I was on the couch. I couldn’t even climb the stairs. If he can carry me to the toilet, he’s a keeper.”
The couple had their first daughter in 2013, and their second in 2019.
In 2022, Alesha said: “I make a very conscious effort to ensure that my daughters have a loving and supportive home with two parents who are great role models.”
Alesha finished filming the first round of BGT auditions last month and will return to the ITV show in the new year alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli.
Her agent declined to comment last night.
