Friends said Alexandra was stunned by the surprise proposal at London’s Rosewood Hotel.
A source said: “Alexandra had no idea this was coming and was on cloud nine.
“Darren went out of his way to plan the most special moment for her and it was perfect.
“I couldn’t be happier that they are moving on to the next phase of their lives together.”

She got the role after making her debut in Pretty Red Dress last year.
Alexandra won The X Factor in 2008 but broke into acting and appeared on the West End stage several times, including productions of Sister Act and The Bodyguard, before breaking into film and TV.
Last year, before landing her role in Curfew, Alexandra said she wanted to focus on acting.
She said: “I want people to hopefully see me as a serious actress and give me every fighting chance at auditions.”
