In a conversation with a TV media outlet, Ali Akbar openly stated that he will renounce his religion and switch from Islam to Hinduism as most Islamic social media users smiled at the news of Bipan Rawat’s death. He said,
Unfortunately, 99% (of the defamatory posts) come from my religious beliefs. So I decided to leave religion. After seeing many hateful and offensive tweets against General Bipin Rawat, I feel ashamed to be a Muslim. Not all Muslims are jihadists, but all jihadists are Muslims.
