But Wong may have had the most striking dress on the entire 2024 SAG Awards red carpet — and the most difficult to use the bathroom in.
The Beef the actress wore a black and white laser cut Iris Van Herpen Couture gown that looked lifelike. The tight column dress featured accessories like tentacles around the shoulders and a bodice that surrounded her with diamond shapes, and she told Laverne Cox on E!’s pre-show that she actually had to be escorted to the Shrine Auditorium in a sprinter van because of the size of her look.
“You know you’ve made it when you get to take a sprinter van!” she said jokingly.
She also told Cox that she usually has to change dresses because of her height, but this one “fit her like a glove,” which she was thrilled about. Wong showed off her towering platform heels and sparkling jewels from Bucherer Fine Jewellery, underneath the dress.

Wong, who is walking the red carpet tonight without partner Bill Hader, who was absent due to a work conflict, is nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her role in Beef. Her co-star Steven Yeun is also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series. A stunt team was also nominated for the show.
Platforms are a red carpet staple for Wong because of her height, and she wore them to the Emmys a few weeks ago despite being injured.
“I’m nursing a knee injury,” Wong told E! host Heather McMahan after showing off her custom Louis Vuitton dress. She then lifted her skirt slightly to reveal her black Brandon Blackwood platform heels. “I had to wear, like, platform heels. These add about five inches. They’re insane.”

For the awards, she wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown that was covered in silver beading on the bodice and an array of multicolored beaded flowers on the skirt.
She accessorized the dress with Chopard jewels, including 36.44 carat diamond earrings and a 10.76 carat diamond ring.
