Alison Hammond has broken her silence on recent rumors about her “tense relationship” with This Morning co-star Dermot O’Leary.
The pair, who usually host ITV every Friday, will replace Holly Willoughby on Monday morning when she has a well-earned summer break.

Taking to Instagram, Dermot confirmed that he and Alison will be replacing Holly this week by sharing a snap of the couple in love warmly on the iconic blue couch.
He captioned: “Summer is here! Looking forward to this week with my @alisonhammond55 – starting at 10am!”

Alison was quick to comment on the post and clear up speculation about their strained relationship. “Cut stress with a knife,” the Birmingham-born presenter wrote, along with a smiling emoji.
Dermot followers were quick to praise the duo he featured in the comments section, with one person writing: “My absolute favorites!!!!” while another added: “Dreaaaaaam team.”

Alison’s comments come after the Mail on Sunday reported that the relationship between the two presenters had become “increasingly strained” in recent months and that ITV bosses were concerned they could have to give private presentations more often.
This is not the first time the couple has denied rumors of friction. Back in October last year, Alison closed reports that ITV had denied at the time.

“I don’t know what’s written but they really get along. Dermot loves Alison and Alison loves Dermot,” the 38-year-old explained.
“Not long ago, she bought him a lovely watch and they went to each other’s houses for dinner. You don’t buy people watches and go home if you don’t like them, do you?”
This is not the first time This morning have made headlines in recent months. The series went through a tumultuous period following the departure of Phillip Schofield. In June, the 61-year-old released a statement explaining that he had lied about an affair with a younger co-star.
