All About Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s Children

Baldwin’s group is large and connected.

Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, share seven children — they welcomed their youngest, daughter Ilaria Catalina Irena, on September 22, 2022.

“Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift in these uncertain times,” Hilaria wrote on Instagram ahead of the baby’s arrival. The lengthy caption was paired with a video of Alec and Hilaria playing with their children after she told them a baby was on the way.

The uncertain times Hilaria spoke of were linked to the accidental death of cinematographer Halyne Hutchins on the set of Baldwin’s film. rust. Because he held the gun that caused the fatal wound, Baldwin was charged with manslaughter in January 2023. The charges were eventually dismissed.

The couple, who married in 2012, have three daughters, Carmen Gabriela, María Lucia Victoria and Ilaria Catalina Irena, as well as four sons Rafael Thomas, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Romeo Alejandro David and Eduardo “Eda” Pao Lucas. Alec is also the father of daughter Ireland Baldwin, who he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

During the interview with Romper in June 2023, Hilaria said that Ilaria was “probably, definitely, almost definitely” her last child.

“I’m always afraid to say it. I was putting away my maternity clothes recently and I said, ‘I’m afraid to give them away because then I’ll find out I’m pregnant,'” she told the outlet. “Every time I have a baby, my vasectomy doctor writes the vasectomy doctor on a post-it, and I bring it home to Alec. He hasn’t done that yet.”

According to a source, Hilaria and Alec are currently “presenting a family reality show that would give an inside look at their lives.”

Carmen Gabriela, 10

Shortly after Alec and Hilaria married in 2012, the couple announced their pregnancy in February 2013 and welcomed their first child together seven months later. Hilaria gave birth to Carmen on August 23, 2013.

In 2017, Hilaria posted an adorable photo describing Carmen’s wish for a little sister. “Carmen begged for a baby sister. She finally got fed up and shoved the doll in her dress, telling me she was going to give birth to a baby for me. But I’m a mom and she’s an older sister,” Hilaria wrote.

Rafael Thomas, 8

Hilaria gave birth to their first son and second child, Rafael, on June 17, 2015. The couple announced the news that Carmen was expecting a sibling in January of that year by sharing a photo of the growing family — and Hilaria’s baby bump — on the beach.

“It was amazing,” Alec said of his then “hero” wife. “Somebody else is doing all the hard work, and you’re there for them. … You sit there and say, ‘I would do anything to make this easier for you,'” he said.

Leonardo Angel Charles, 7

A year later, Alec and Hilaria welcomed their third child and second son together on September 12, 2016. “It was such a special day to bring him into this world,” Hilaria captioned a photo of herself holding her newborn shortly after his birth.

Although his name is Leonardo — and he’s often called Leo — his dad immediately nicknamed him “Leoncito,” according to Alec’s Instagram caption.

Romeo Alejandro David, 5

On May 17, 2018, Romeo joined siblings Carmen, Rafael and Leo. He is Hilaria and Alec’s third son and fourth child together. Before the couple decided on Romeo, they called him by another name almost until the day he was born.

“He didn’t have a name for two days,” Hilaria told PEOPLE at the time. “His name we were pretty sure all along was Diego, which I still love very much. I told my kids, ‘Diego is coming,’ and they were all waiting for him.”

“I don’t know why I started getting this feeling that I was getting very close to giving birth if it wasn’t his name,” she added.

Eduardo ‘Edu’ Pao Lucas, 3

Hilaria and Alec welcomed their fourth son and fifth child, Eduardo, together on September 8, 2020. The couple took to their Instagram the next day to announce the news of their new addition, whom they nicknamed “Edu.”

The mom-of-six called Edu their “rainbow baby” and “such a blessing” — he was born after she suffered two miscarriages seven months apart in 2019. Hilaria often posts cute photos of Edu next to his younger sister.

María Lucía Victoria, 2

Carmen’s wish for a baby sister came true six months after Hilaria gave birth to Edu. The couple welcomed their sixth child via surrogate on February 25, 2021. Called María Lucía Victoria — her name is Lucía — she made her Instagram debut with a close-up shared by Hilaria, with a heartfelt caption.

“We are so in love with our daughter Lucia,” she wrote. “Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true.”

Hilaria and Alec confirmed to PEOPLE that they are expecting their seventh child in March 2022. “We have ‘somos un buen equipo’ engraved on our wedding rings. That’s what we tell each other all the time at home — that we’re a good team,” Hilaria and Alec tell PEOPLE in exclusive statement. “One of the most beautiful things my children have experienced with a big family is how the heart can grow with each new brother or sister.” The news of Hilaria’s pregnancy came after she suffered a miscarriage and pregnancy loss in 2019.

On September 22, 2022, the couple welcomed their seventh child, a girl named Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin, who weighed 6 lbs., 13 oz.

“How grateful we feel to welcome our newest daughter into this world,” the couple told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement. “Just as magical and filled with love as every other little person we’ve been blessed with.”

On October 4, Hilaria shared their first family photo on Instagram since welcoming their newest member last month.

“Our first photo with the littlest Baldwins! What a Baldwinito dream team,” she wrote, mentioning Alec’s oldest daughter on Instagram. “Ireland, I miss you and you love me ✨.”

Alec’s oldest child, Ireland, was born in 1995 to Alec and his then-wife, actress Kim Basinger. The two divorced in 2002, and Ireland publicly found herself at the center of a very acrimonious split when Alec’s voicemails were leaked.

In the years since, Ireland has become a model and influencer, mended her relationship with her father and wanted a child of her own. She now has a close relationship with her father and stepmother, who excitedly shared the news of a new niece on the way with seven Irish half-siblings.
