All About Elizabeth Hurley’s Son Damian Hurley

Elizabeth Hurley’s son follows in her footsteps.

The Gossip girl the actress has one child, Damian Hurley, with businessman Steve Bing. Her mini-me was born in 2002 and started acting and modeling just like her mother, even joining her on set for the third season Royal.

Aside from acting, there have been rumors of a potential reality show for the mother-son duo in 2021. However, Elizabeth was quick to put the gossip to rest on Instagram.

“Hear it from the horse’s mouth, my son @damianhurley1 and I are definitely NOT planning on doing a ‘Walton style reality TV show’ at home,” she wrote. “I mean!! Whoever the ‘friend’ (or bored reporter) is that’s posting this made up tidbits, you’re hilarious.”

Elizabeth and Damian remain active on social media, often giving fans and followers a glimpse into their family life. Despite their lives in the spotlight, Elizabeth told PEOPLE in 2017 that while she would “encourage anything he wants,” she still wants Damian to “study hard in school” and focus on having experiences in more than just Hollywood.

He was born on April 4, 2002

Two years after ending her 13-year relationship with actor Hugh Grant, Elizabeth gave birth to a son, Damian Charles Hurley.

His father is businessman Steve Bing, whom Elizabeth dated for 18 months.

His godfather is Hugh Grant

Elizabeth met Grant in 1987 and they dated for 13 years before divorcing in 2000. When Damian was born in 2002, Elizabeth asked Grant to be his godfather.

In June 2021, Elizabeth appeared on PEOPLE of the ’90s podcast in which she reflected on her relationship with Grant.

“You know, we’ve been through so much together. But I’ve been thinking, one of the most important things to maintaining good relationships with exes is to have a lot of respect for their current lives,” Elizabeth said.

“I don’t think we’ve been in a romantic relationship for 20 years, even though we have such a strong friendship. But we’re always very aware that there are other people in our lives,” she continued. “There are partners, there are children … You have to move with the times and have a lot of respect for the present, which we are.”

He grew up in England and Australia

Damian grew up in Gloucestershire with his mother and businessman Arun Nayar, who was Elizabeth’s husband from 2007 to 2011.

When Blinded in 2011, the actress got engaged to Australian cricketer Shane Warne, the family moved to Australia, where they lived intermittently.

He is an actor and a model

Damian seems to be just as comfortable in front of the cameras as his famous mother. Before starting his modeling career, Damian was an up-and-coming actor, acting alongside his mother Royal.

He played Prince Hansel Von Liechtenstein in the show’s third season and shared scenes with his mother, who called the experience “absolutely fantastic.”

“He’s been such a supporter of the show and really of me his whole life and I was proud that he was actually in costume, with a microphone, doing his lines, I was proud,” she told PEOPLE in 2017.

In 2019, Damian landed his first major modeling gig for cosmetics brand Pat McGrath Labs. Damian’s bone structure, bright blue eyes and confidence in front of the camera were on full display in the campaign video — and reminiscent of his famous mom, who became an Estée Lauder spokeswoman in 1995.

Damian later signed a contract with a well-known agency. “I’m incredibly excited to be joining IMG Models,” Damian told WWD 2020. “Becoming part of such a wonderful family is truly fantastic. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Elizabeth encourages his studies

In 2017, Elizabeth told PEOPLE that she wanted her son to stick to his studies and focus on being a well-rounded person.

“I always say, you don’t want to be boring at dinner. You have to know geography, you have to know history,” Elizabeth said. “And of course, if he wants to be—and if he’s talented enough and lucky enough to be a movie star, that would be nice. But for me, that’s the icing on the cake after you [become] a fully rounded person.”

His father died in 2020

In June 2020, Bing was found dead in the basement of an apartment building in Century City, California.

In a heartfelt tribute to Bing on Instagram, Elizabeth shared a gallery of photos of herself smiling alongside Damian’s father.

“I’m incredibly sad that my ex Steve is no longer with us. It’s a terrible ending,” the actress wrote. “Our time together was very happy and I’m posting these pictures because even though we’ve been through hard times, it’s the good, wonderful memories of a dear, good man that matter.”

“Last year we became close again,” Elizabeth continued. “The last time we spoke was on our son’s 18th birthday. This is devastating news and I thank everyone for their kind messages.”

Damian also shared the loss of his father on Instagram.

“Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who reached out after the devastating news,” he wrote. “This is a very strange and confusing time and I am beyond grateful to be surrounded by my amazing family and friends.”

He was very close to his late stepfather

In 2011, when Damian was 9 years old, Elizabeth got engaged to Warne. The couple split in 2013, but remained close for many years. In March 2022, Warne died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 52.

“I feel like the sun has gone behind the clouds forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart,” the Austin Powers star she wrote her post in honor.

Damian also took to Instagram to express his disappointment over Warne’s death.

“Still trying to wrap my head around this,” Damian captioned a carousel of photos of himself with Warne. “SW was a father figure to me for most of my formative years and was truly one of the best men I have ever known. I am heartbroken.”

He and his mother attended events together

In June 2022, the mother-son duo celebrated Elizabeth’s 57th birthday by coordinating Versace looks. Earlier in October 2021, the couple attended the joint Fendi-Versace fashion show which was an exciting milestone for Damian.

“I haven’t been to a fashion show in a good few years, I guess no one has,” Elizabeth told PEOPLE at the time. “He’s never been to one. So I think it was great for us to go to one together…”
