All About Hilary Swank’s Twins, Aya and Ohm

Hilary Swank became a mother for the first time when she welcomed twins with her husband Philip Schneider.

The A million dollar baby the actress gave birth to a daughter Aya and a son Ohm in April 2023, but she only revealed their names for the first time on Valentine’s Day 2024. On the same day, she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she opened up about what it was like to be a mother of then ten-month-old twins.

“It’s the best in the whole world,” she said. “Yes, it’s more joy, it’s more fun, and it’s more exhausting. It’s more of everything than I ever thought it would be. It’s more magnificent, the most extraordinary thing in the world.”

Although Swank has mostly kept her babies out of the public eye, she opened up about her pregnancy and the struggles and joys of having twins at the age of 48.

Swank announced for the first time that she was pregnant Good morning America in October 2023 while promoting her show Alaska Daily.

“This is something I’ve wanted for a long time and my next thing is to be a mom,” she said. “And not just one, but two. I can’t believe it.”

She added that she is relieved to now be able to share and talk about her happy news. Later in the day, she appeared on Living with Kelly and Marksaying that she is doing well now that she has entered her second trimester.

“I feel great right now, even with the time — you know, I’m on Pacific Time, so I’m a little confused by that,” she said. “But right now I feel good.”

“My clothes started not fitting me, so the other day I had to… cut them [my jeans] open. And then I put on a jacket that was out of continuity,” Swank recalled. “And [they] came and said: ‘It is not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’ “Does not mean.” ‘No, there is. I’ll make sure it works.’ She says, ‘If you’re an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird.’ ”

The actress added that the twins were in both her and her husband’s family, so the news was not a complete surprise, but she considered it a “blessing”.

She did her best to hide her pregnancy during the first trimester

In the spirit of keeping her pregnancy a secret until she’s ready for it, Swank revealed The Late Late Show with James Corden in January 2023 that she lied about her racing abilities to keep it a secret during filming Alaska Daily.

“In my first trimester, the first 12 weeks, nobody knew I was pregnant. We work 15 hours a day, it’s no joke. You’re so tired in the first trimester too, and my character was a runner,” she said. . “One to two minutes on the screen takes two hours.”

Knowing she was pregnant and wouldn’t be able to keep up with the long run, Swank tried to subtly devise a way to get out of shooting the scenes, eventually telling her team that she was a “really bad runner” and needed a stunt double.

“They were like, all of them, like, ‘Huh? You? What? You need a running back?’ ” she said. “And I said, ‘Yeah, really bad.’ ”

However, her request did not go down so easily. The team asked Swank to show them her running skills to determine if she needed a stunt double, prompting her to put her acting skills to the test to convince them.

In the end it worked and the team granted her wish.

During the same performance at The Late Late ShowSwank said that after entering her third trimester, she was impressed by what women’s bodies are capable of, especially during pregnancy.

“I feel like women are superheroes,” said Swank, then at the 27-week mark. “What are our bodies doing? I have this, like, whole newfound respect. I mean, I love women, I’ve always loved women, but now, like, ‘Wow, we can do it!’ ”

She added that entering the third trimester was a relief because it meant leaving behind some of the more unpleasant aspects of pregnancy, such as morning sickness and unruly cravings.

“For the first 16 weeks, I had a lot of morning sickness,” she said. “All I wanted was fruit. I know it’s not that exciting, they’re not like pickles dipped in peanut butter, but a lot of fruit. To the point that when one of my colleagues found out I was pregnant, he said, ‘Eh , that’s why. That’s why you eat 10 pomegranates a day, 50 pears.’ ”

Three months after debuting her baby bump on the Golden Globes red carpet, Swank and Schneider welcomed their son and daughter in April 2023. They announced the birth of their children on Easter Sunday with a sweet Instagram photo of Swank holding one child in each hand while looking over the sunset.

“It wasn’t easy. But boy (and girl!) was it worth it. 👼🏼🤍👼🏼,” she wrote in the caption. “Happy Easter! 🐣🐣 Post from pure heaven. 🙌🏽.”

Many of Swank’s famous friends sent her congratulations, including Kate Hudson, Viola Davis, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Mariska Hargitay.

“God bless honey,” commented Sharon Stone. “This is the most unusual trip ever ❣️🌹 so happy for you all.”

She revealed their names when they were 10 months old

On Valentine’s Day 2024, Swank revealed her children’s names in a sweet Instagram photo of the twins sitting in the sand on a beach. Aya was in a pink bathing suit while Ohm was in blue and both were facing away from the camera, their names written in the sand behind them.

“I have a busy week of talk shows to talk about my new movie and fun partnership, but I figured what better day to share the names of my two little loves with you all first👼🏼👼🏼💝,” she wrote in the caption .

During her performance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that same day, Swank reported on her “little Cupid’s Valentines.” After meeting them backstage, host Jimmy Fallon asked Swank if the babies had spoken yet.

“My daughter … the first thing she ever started saying, she sounded like a morning dove. Like just a beautiful little morning dove. And then it turned into a growl. A growl, but like she’s really committing,” she joked.

In addition to growling, Swank added that Aya also greets everything from plants to the sun. As for her son, the boy is still “learning everything”. Meanwhile, they developed a love for music.

“They love music, one of the first songs we played them was ‘Here Comes The Sun,'” Swank told Fallon. “It was rainy when they were born but we were like spring is coming and the sun is coming with your two bright little balls of light.”
