All About Ice-T and Coco Austin’s Daughter Chanel Nicole

Ice-Ta and Coco Austin’s love grew when they had their daughter Chanel Nicole.

The Law and order: SVU the actor and model celebrated several milestones in their two-decade marriage, including his Grammy Award win, her clothing line and starting a family. After meeting in 2001 and marrying in Las Vegas the following year, Ice-T and Coco encouraged each other as they pursued their ambitions in Hollywood.

However, one of the couple’s greatest achievements together was the birth of Chanel in 2015. As a father of three, Ice-T revealed what it was like to raise a child with Coco.

“Muhammad Ali said it best, ‘When a man has a child in the second half of his life, after age 50, it resets his life,'” he said on The Big Tigger Show.

As for Coco, the first mother does not miss the opportunity to honor her daughter, who she says is the perfect match between her and the rapper. The feeling is mutual as Chanel expressed in an appearance on Show Tamron Hall for Mother’s Day 2023 “When I was first born, I loved you,” said Coco.

When it comes to parenting, Ice-T says they have a unique approach, but it works for them. “Our parenting is a lot different than a normal, blocky couple from Oklahoma. I’m a fucking rock star, it’s different,” he told PEOPLE.

Ice-T and Coco welcomed their daughter Chanel Nicole on November 28, 2015 in Englewood, New Jersey.

When announcing the birth, Coco posted a photo of her baby from the hospital on Instagram.

“Surprise!!! Look who’s early!! Say hello to new arrival Chanel Nicole. Beautiful healthy 5.7 pound baby girl,” she wrote. “Ice and I are so proud! I cried when she came out, I was so excited to meet her!”

The following week, Coco continued to express her joy on X (formerly known as Twitter). “My miracle! Yes, I am such a proud mom!!” she captioned a picture of herself holding Chanel.

It shares similarities with both parents

One thing fans always point out about Chanel is that she looks just like her dad, and Ice-T said as much in an interview with 2023. Todayopposition to popular opinion.

“It is OK. I think she’s a little irritated by people telling her she looks like her dad and not her mom. But if you look at any old picture of Coco, there are similarities,” the hip-hop star said.

On the other hand, his wife noted that Chanel has perfected her father’s “famous side eye” but has her own personality.

“She’s very sweet, she’s very sweet,” Coco told PEOPLE in 2017. “I think she has my dad’s attitude and my sweet personality. I’d say she’s a mix.”

She is a natural performer

When she was born, Ice-T and Coco announced that Chanel had her own Instagram account and had been documenting her life on it ever since. Today, she has nearly half a million followers who have watched her grow and achieve her modeling and performing ambitions, as described in her bio.

In 2017, Coco opened up to PEOPLE about her daughter exploring a career in the entertainment industry. Although hesitant about the possibility, the reality TV star admitted that Chanel “naturally” gravitates towards it. She’s definitely a performer, Coco said.

She also added that Chanel likes to sing and dance. “She watches her dad at concerts… she sees him moving with the microphone, so now she knows how to… leave it to the audience,” shared the former fashion designer.

Still, Coco might encourage her to go into another field, and Chanel is keeping her parents guessing for now. In an Instagram photo showing her on the first day of second grade in 2023, she held a sign detailing what she wanted to be when she grew up: a dentist, a nanny, or a singer.

Chanel added acting to that list. While I was talking to PEOPLE in January 2024 at ALL At the 25th anniversary celebration in New York, not only did her parents discover that Chanel was interested in appearing in the show, but that their daughter already had representatives.

“You know Chanel and Ryan Buggle [who plays Noah, son of Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson] they have the same agents. We didn’t even know that. She just got an agent,” Ice-T said.

She is interested in fashion

As she grew up, Chanel showed an interest in fashion with her clothes, costumes and looks matching her mom’s. The ambitious performer even graced the catwalk at New York Fashion Week twice.

In February 2017, she walked the runway for Rookie USA at the “Nike/Jordan Fashion Show” with her parents. Six years later, Chanel returned to NYFW to walk alone. She attended the 13th annual Rookie USA fashion show wearing a matching blue tracksuit, blowing a kiss to the camera at the end of the runway.

Chanel marked the special moment on Instagram with a photo and a sincere message: “I made it!! I was under maximum stress, but I didn’t show it on the runway!! My first fashion show!! Thanks @rookieusa for the opportunity!”

She is close to her older brothers and sisters

Chanel is the only child of Ice-T and Coco, but the rapper was a father before she was born and has two other children from previous relationships.

Ice-T had a daughter, LeTesha Marrow, in 1976 with his high school girlfriend, Adrienne. His son, Tracy Marrow Jr., was born in 1991 with ex-girlfriend Darlene Ortiz.

Although Chanel is much younger than her siblings, she is close to them. In honor of her 8th birthday, LeTesha shared a photo of her smiling sister with the caption, “Happy birthday to my little sister nae nae!!!!! 🎉🥳🎉💐👑💐 Hope you have the best birthday ever!!! 💕💕💕Have fun!!! I love you!! 🎂💋💕💐🎉.”

Chanel also celebrated Thanksgiving 2023 with her brother, and he posted a photo of them hugging at dinner, calling her his “twin” and “best friend.”

Tracy wrote: “I would do anything for my little sister @babychanelnicole I dread the day she calls me and tells me some f*cking boy broke her heart, it’s gonna be a bad day for him lol.”

He will soon become a reality star

Fans may soon get a better look at Chanel’s life at home. In September 2023, Ice-T revealed that she would be following in her parents’ footsteps as a reality TV star.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame winner said Hey! News that his wife and daughter are working on an upcoming play called Coco loves Chanel. The new project would be a sequel to the original E! reality series, Ice loves Cocowith much less focus on Ice-T.

“It’s about mothers and Coco’s girlfriends who are mothers,” he explained. “It’s a feel-good show… It’s kind of all about the lives of mothers in entertainment with their kids and how they bond and the things they go through and stuff like that.”

She is a sensation on social networks

Ice-T and Coco proudly share pictures of their daughter online, including her everyday life and special moments with family and friends. The “Colors” artist spoke openly about how he and Chanel approach social media.

“It’s fun and she loves doing it,” he told PEOPLE in 2023. “If it wasn’t, we definitely wouldn’t be doing it.”

Ice-T explained that they started her own Instagram account when she was born because they knew she would want to share hundreds of photos of Chanel but didn’t want to do it on her personal pages. The father of three children also expressed his opinion on privacy.

“We are not afraid that anything will happen. People will say, ‘don’t show her face.’ We don’t worry about it,” he added. “We just feel like we’re sharing something that makes us happy.”

Ice-T said he would stop it immediately if Chanel no longer enjoyed it, adding, “We watch everything and post everything.”
