All About J.B. Smoove's Daughter, Claim to Fame Star Jerrica Brooks

Jerrica Brooks takes after her father: Jerry Brooks, aka JB Smoove.

Jerrica was born on October 21, 1993. She calls herself the “spicy queen of Libra” on Instagram.

Smoove celebrated his daughter’s 30th birthday in 2023 with a touching Facebook post. “On this day October 21, 1993 the world met my beautiful daughter @j.monay21,” he wrote. “I’m proud of you!”

Her father quit his job when she was born

Smoove decided to quit his day job the day he became a father. “At that time I was just working in clubs, traveling and doing some shows and colleges,” he recalled in an interview published on Dad’s life. “I was working to keep the lights on. I always say the way I work is to keep the lights on and everything else is gravy.”

“All of a sudden you’re going to have a baby,” Smoove continued. “I knew the only way I was going to achieve the things I wanted to do and get to where I am now was if I couldn’t be at that day job. I couldn’t make my dream come true. This isn’t for everyone, but I quit my day job because I wouldn’t be able to do exactly what I wanted to do if I kept that day job.”

She worked for Sofia Vergara

Jerrica was a contestant on ABC Claim to famea show where celebrity family members hide their identities and compete in weekly challenges to see who will be the last one alive.

Smoove’s daughter was the runner-up in the second season of the competitive reality series. After the finale, Jerrica wrote on Instagram that being part of the show was an “absolute dream”.

“Not only did I play an amazing game, but I also stepped out of my comfort zone and showed the world the true essence of Jerrica!” she added. “Every moment was a joy and I made connections that will last a lifetime.”

Many know her as “Monay”

Jerrica used her middle name while competing Claim to fame. She admitted Parade that “the hardest part was actually using your middle name and trying to remember to answer it and then just not being fully yourself.”

She added: “You tell stories about your life, but you say, ‘I can’t say too much,’ because you don’t want to give away.”

Smoove was “proud” of his daughter’s run Claim to fame. Jerrica said Westchester Magazine 2024, “My dad has always been very supportive. He said, you guys are so smart, you had a great strategy.”

In an interview with Paradereality star noted that her dad is “the biggest fan” and revealed that he would call her every week to tell her how excited he was about the game.

Her father is the girl’s proud dad

Smoove celebrated National Daughter’s Day 2021 with a photo of himself and Jerrica.

Along with a photo of father and daughter, he wrote on Facebook: “National Daughter’s Day should be every day [d—] day! We you girl @j.brooks21! Happy National Daughter’s Day! I look forward to all your adventures.”
