John Travolta is the proud father of a little girl.

“She’s her own person. She’s graceful, generous, poised, graceful and beautiful. I don’t know how she came to be, and I don’t give her any credit other than I just adore her,” Travolta told PEOPLE of Ella in 2019. “And maybe she it’s a valid contribution.”

Ella looks up to her famous father, especially as she builds her own career in the entertainment industry.

“I say he’s my biggest fan and I’m his biggest fan,” Ella told Parade.com. “So there’s a lot of support, which is — it’s amazing. I’ve learned so much from him.”

The two have teamed up on several projects over the years, including commercials for the Super Bowl and PlayStation.

In February 2024, Travolta turned 70 — and Ella wrote a sweet post about her dad on Instagram.

“Happy birthday to the man who is always by my side and who always brings light and beauty to this world. I love you to the moon and back,” she wrote. In the comments, the actor replied: “And I will always be Ella, my little girl.”

She was born on April 3, 2000

Preston and Travolta welcomed their only daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta, on April 3, 2000, at their home in California. In the publication, Preston recalled the magical moment when she met her daughter The Red Book just a few months after giving birth.

“John put his hands under her arms while she was still half inside, and I put my hand on top of his, and together we pulled her out and laid her on my chest,” she told the magazine.

Becoming a mom for Preston was, as she said, a lifelong dream Health magazine in 2011.

“I always wanted to be a mother, ever since I was 11,” she said. “I’ve done commercials for thousands of dollars, but I’d still babysit for three dollars an hour just because I loved it.”

She is a big sister

Ella was Travolta and Preston’s second child after they first welcomed son Jett in April 1992. Sadly, Jett died in January 2009 while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas. The then 16-year-old hit his head on the bathtub after suffering a seizure at the family cottage.

In the midst of their grief, the family received surprising news: Preston was pregnant with their third child.

“We’ve been trying for three years and because of our age we thought it might not be possible for us… We were completely blown away,” she told PEOPLE after welcoming their “miracle baby” Benjamin in November 2010.

The actress also shared Ella’s reaction when she became a big sister for the first time. “You’d think Ella had Benjamin herself because of her enthusiasm about his arrival – she was thrilled, to say the least. When she first saw him, she fell in love,” she said.

Ella and Benjamin have a close relationship. In November 2022, she celebrated her younger brother’s birthday with a sweet tribute on Instagram. “Happy birthday to the cutest boy I know❤️🎉🐶 I love you!!!” she wrote alongside a shot of Benjamin holding one of the family’s dogs.

She started performing as a child

Ella followed in her parents’ footsteps from an early age.

“Ever since I was little, I really loved singing and performing — whether it was acting, dancing, singing,” Ella told PEOPLE in 2023.

As a child, the aspiring actress put on “must-see” house plays, with her parents front and center in the audience.

“At our house in Maine, we have this stage set up with a little red curtain and my friends and I would perform there… We did (everything), from Hulk to Christmas plays and one year we all played different Housewives of Maine,” she previously shared with PEOPLE.

Travolta encouraged her passion, allowing her to act in movies when she was a child.

“When she was seven, she said, ‘Dad, I want to do a movie,'” Travolta said in a guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019. “A week later, an opportunity to work Old dogs she introduced herself.”

Ella played Emily, one of the twins unbeknownst to her father, in the 2009 comedy starring her dad and Robin Williams.

She is a multi-hyphenate in the entertainment industry

Ella has an impressive resume consisting of modeling, acting and music. After inserting into Old dogs as a child, she starred alongside her father in the 2019 film A poisonous roseand recently got her first lead role in Get lostmovie inspired Alice in Wonderland.

She started her modeling career in Karl Lagerfeld’s show during New York Fashion Week 2022, and turned her passion for music into a profession.

“About two years ago, at the beginning of the pandemic, I said, ‘Oh, I have some song ideas that I just recorded as voiceovers. I should try to finish them,'” she told PEOPLE. “So I started finishing those songs and writing them. I thought, ‘Oh, I really like this.’ ”

She released the songs “Dizzy” and “No Thank You” and plans to release an EP later in 2023 – which would Pulp Fiction the actor is beaming with pride.

“He’s really proud, which makes me really happy,” she shared. “He also really likes the style of music. He enjoys listening to it and will show it to everyone.”

Her dad is her mentor

Besides being her father, Travolta is also Ella’s mentor in the entertainment industry.

While appearing on Conversation In 2019, the proud dad revealed while Ella was filming A poisonous rosein which he also starred, he became a real dad on stage.

“I’m funny. I’m behind the camera saying her every word, doing her moves,” Travolta admitted.

However, the 23-year-old said it was nice to have him on set.

“It actually helped a lot to know he was there,” she said. “He would appear between scenes and then I would know I had him behind the monitor, just watching, checking to see if he was okay.”

He enjoys baking

In Ella’s free time, she can be found in the kitchen preparing fresh treats or trying out a new recipe.

While promoting A poisonous rose in 2019, she said Access to Hollywood that her family enjoys baking each other’s cakes, discovering who usually takes the cake.

While appearing alongside his father on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In 2019, Ella told guest host Lena Waithe that Oprah Winfrey was present at one of her childhood milestones.

“I actually lost my first tooth with Oprah on the boat,” she said. “It just happened and I was really excited. I think I swallowed a tooth.”

Winfrey has been close to the Travolta family for years. The Saturday night fever the star became a favorite guest on her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Showhe even teamed up with her during the show’s final season to surprise his audience with a trip to Australia, with Travolta piloting the trip.

“As soon as I knew she loved me, I was at home,” he recalled of their first meeting in a farewell message for the daytime TV host. “And I said, ‘Okay, this woman really likes me and let’s have fun.’ ”

She painted one of her mom’s most famous campaigns

Ella paid tribute to her mom “Do you have any milk?” ad from the 90s proudly sporting his own plant-based milk mustache for Silk Nextmilk’s famous campaign. The ads — which debuted in February 2023 — also featured Brooklyn Beckham and Sailor Brinkley-Cook, both of whom also had a parent who sported the iconic mustache decades earlier.

Ella follows a plant-based diet herself, and she told PEOPLE that her favorite plant-based dish is banana bread.

“It’s kind of my specialty,” she said while on set for a photo shoot, adding that she also likes to drink her morning matcha with dairy-free milk.

He keeps the memory of his mother alive

Ella was 20 when her mother died after a two-year battle with breast cancer in July 2020. In the years since, both Ella and Travolta have continued to celebrate Preston, regularly sharing tributes on social media for Mother’s Day and her birthday.

In October 2022, Ella released a heartbreaking video montage featuring photos of her with Preston as children, along with the emotional song “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The following May, she shared a photo of Preston and Travolta with a sweet caption in honor of Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mother’s Day to the most wonderful, funniest, kind, caring, beautiful and brilliant mom a girl could ever ask for and the most legendary duo I could ever dream of raising me. I am so grateful and filled with love on this day❤️,” she wrote.

She travels the world

Ella’s passport has quite a collection of stamps. The model enjoys traveling the world, often with her father (who has been a licensed pilot since he was 22!).

The Travolta family spent part of the summer of 2023 traveling to Japan, where Travolta gave fans a sneak peek of their trip via Instagram Reel. The behind-the-scenes video showed the group sightseeing, a trip to the zoo and amusement park, a visit to an art exhibit and more.

The Golden Globe winner tries everything while planning a family vacation. Their 2022 expedition included stops in Iceland, Greece and Dubai, and Travolta spent his daughter’s 22nd birthday over tea in England.
