Rebel Wilson is a mom!

The Pitch Perfect alum had a baby girl via surrogate on November 7, 2022.

– I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she is a wonderful miracle! – the actress married to fashion designer and jewelry designer Ramona Agrum wrote on Instagram.

The happy news came after Wilson opened up to PEOPLE in May 2022 about her journey to motherhood, which began when she visited a fertility doctor in 2019.

“He looked me over and said, ‘You’d be much better off if you were healthier,’” she told PEOPLE. “I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh my God, this guy is so rude’.’ He was right. I was carrying a lot of extra weight, as if I didn’t think about the needs of my future child.

​The actress, who also has polycystic ovary syndrome (which can also affect fertility), embarked on a “year of health” in 2020 and ended up losing more than 80 pounds.

In August 2023, Wilson told PEOPLE that the best part of her day is coming home to her daughter. “I throw Royce in the air until she giggles, tickle her and help put her to bed. It just melts my heart,” she said.

Royce’s name has a special meaning

Wilson told PEOPLE that her daughter’s full name is Royce Lillian Elizabeth Wilson, explaining the meaning behind each of her names. “I wanted an original name that started with the letter R and in the end I decided on that,” she said. “Lillian and Elizabeth are family names carried by women in my family that I admire. Elizabeth, which is also my middle name, after the late queen.”

In her Instagram post, she also teased her cute nickname for her newborn, writing, “I’m ready to give little Roycie all the love you can imagine. I’m a fast learner…much respect to all the moms out there! Proud to be in your club. 💗💗💗. ”

She was born by a surrogate mother

In her birth announcement, Wilson also revealed that Royce was born via surrogate. While she didn’t share any further details, she did give a heartfelt shoutout to the surrogate mother, writing: “Thank you to my beautiful surrogate mother who carried and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift. BEST gift! !”

Agruma threw Wilson a baby shower

Shortly after sharing that she welcomed her first child, Wilson revealed to PEOPLE that Agruma planned her baby shower with a group of close friends, and she “went above and beyond to make the day special.”

“It was the most beautiful baby shower with friends from all over the world,” Wilson added, praising Agruma for being “so amazing and such a great partner.”

Her birth was “formative years”

In her PEOPLE cover story, Wilson revealed that she had been working with fertility doctors since 2019. “I would love to have a family. I’m doing it on my own right now because of biology class,” she said at the time. “If I meet the right person, great, and then he can fit into whatever happens.”

In her November 2022 Instagram post, Wilson added that Royce’s birth was “years in the making” as she thanked her loved ones for their support.

That same month, Wilson spoke to PEOPLE about her fertility issues during production Almond and seahorsein which she plays a woman who wants to become a mother. “During filming, I received the terrible news that all my eggs collected up to that point did not survive thawing,” the actress shared.

“So I lost a huge amount of weight and went through 3 surgeries at that point and no viable embryos,” she continued. – It was devastating.

Still, she explained, “I knew my desire to become a mother was so strong that I had to keep trying.”

Citrus helps Wilson raise Royce

The fashion designer is just as committed to raising baby Royce as her fellow actress.

In November 2022, Agruma opened up about motherhood during an interview with Morning show.

– You start thinking about someone else instead of yourself, priorities change – she told the presenters. “It was amazing, really life changing, but in a good way.”

On Mother’s Day 2023, Wilson shared a photo of herself, Agruma and Royce sitting together. In the video, Agruma confirmed her role in Royce’s life by wearing a pink hat with the words “MOM” on it.

A year later, it appeared that Agruma may have helped Royce make a special gift for Wilson in honor of Mother’s Day 2024. She shared a photo on her Instagram Stories showing a picture of her daughter in a frame that Royce appeared to have painted and decorated with glitter and stickers with butterflies.

Wilson and Agruma threw her her first birthday party

Wilson and Agruma celebrated Royce’s first birthday with a little mermaid-themed soiree. The celebration included a bouquet of pink balloons and a birthday cake decorated with mermaid tails, starfish and shells.
