The Suits the franchise continues with a new spinoff.

Addressed Fits LAthe upcoming series will be set in the same universe as the original legal drama with a different cast. In July 2024, NBCUniversal announced that the series had been picked up to series order.

News of the upcoming spinoff came shortly after the original Suits series experienced a great revival on Netflix. After hitting the streamer in June 2023, the series starring Patrick J. Adams and Meghan Markle set a new record as the most-watched purchased streaming title nearly four years after the series finale.

The show, which followed the exploits of Adams’ character Mike Ross as he manages to land a job as a lawyer despite never attending law school, aired from June 2011 to September 2019. Suits previously had another spinoff called Pearson starring Gina Torres’ character, which premiered in July 2019 and ran for 10 episodes before being canceled.

What is Fits LA about?

As the new title suggests, the series will be set in Los Angeles and will feature an entirely new set of characters. According to the official logline, the series follows a former New York federal prosecutor named Ted Black, who “reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.”

“His company is at a crisis point, and in order to survive, he must accept a role he has despised his entire career,” the logline continues. “Ted is surrounded by an all-star cast of characters who test their loyalty to Ted and to each other until they can’t help but mix up their personal and professional lives. All of this happens as events from years ago slowly unravel that caused Ted to leave everything and everyone he loved.”

The first teaser for the series appeared in November 2024, showing Amell in his office as the original series’ theme song, “Greenback Boogie” by Ima Robot, plays.

Arrow alum Stephen Amell will lead the cast as Ted Black, “a former New York federal prosecutor who reinvents himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles,” according to the show’s official description.

Since his casting was announced in February 2024, several other stars have been announced, including The living dead actor Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, co-founder of Black Lane Law, and Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, “a smart and powerful rising star who works for Ted Black,” per Deadline.

In March 2024. One Tree Hill alum Bryan Greenberg also joined the cast as a series regular. He is set to play Rick Dodson, Ted Black’s protégé in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law, according to Deadline.

Other cast members include Troy Winbush as Kevin and Alice Lee as Leah. Additionally, Maggie Grace, Matt Letscher, Sofia Pernas and Carson A. Egan are set to guest star, per Diversity.

Will any original Suits cast members appear Fits LA?

While the series includes all-new characters, it will be set in the same universe as the original USA Network series, meaning there is potential for Suits characters that will appear. So far, members of the show’s cast have expressed interest in returning, including Adams.

When discussing the upcoming spinoff in January 2024, ex Suits the star noted that he and (his co-stars) would love to reprise their roles. “If we get a phone call, if I get a phone call, I’m ready to put the suit back on,” he said ET. “I love the series, I love the character. And I loved working with all those people.”

In November 2024, Gabriel Macht confirmed that he would reprise his role as Harvey Specter with a video he shared on Instagram showing him wearing a shirt with “HS” stitched on the sleeve and his character’s name on a tag inside his shoes.

“When an old friend is in need… it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right,” he wrote in the caption.

At that time, Deadline reported that Macht will reprise his role for a three-episode run.

When Fits LA movie?

The show, which was given a pilot order in February 2024, was set to begin production in late March in Vancouver, Canada. Although the pilot was filmed in Vancouver as planned, production was later moved to Los Angeles, according to Diversity.

After all, the series didn’t begin filming until November 2024. Amell took to Instagram to share a video from his first day on set, November 18, with the caption, “DAY 1 —.”

The show will be hosted by the original Suits creator Aaron Korsh. In addition to writing the pilot, Korsh will co-executive produce Suits EP David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein. Victoria Mahoney has also been tapped to direct the pilot.

While Suits aired on USA Network and Pearson spinoff aired on Peacock, Fits LA will air on NBC.
