The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a short-form T20 cricket tournament known for its thrilling matches and explosive batting. Since its inception in 2008, the Indian Premier League has been the platform for some of the most exciting and highest scoring cricket matches in the world.

TOP 5 biggest scoreboard ever at IPL
1. Challenger Royal Bangalore (May 263)
April 23, 2013 was a historic night in the Indian Premier League. Competing against India’s Pune Warriors, IPl favorites Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a whopping 263 having lost only 5 points. RCB star Chris Gayle contributed 175 runs alone and was not disqualified. This is considered a respectable score for the team at IPL. A few more balls and Gayle will break a double record in T20 cricket. Other RCB players like Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers came in second while Gayle carved his name into the history books forever. Pune Warriors India is capped at 133/9.
2. Super Giant Lucknow (257/5)
The Lucknow Super Giants almost surpassed RCB’s almost undefeated record as they scored 257 runs in 20 rounds, losing only 5 goals. LSG played the first game against the Punjab Kings and every player of the team came on and started to hit the throw. Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran were the MVPs, scoring 72 of 40 and 45 of 19 respectively. PBKS also hit the ball well and would have won any other day but missed 56 runs even when it was scored. 201 runs.
3. Challenger Royal Bangalore (248/3)
It is a rare scenario where two players score a record goal in the same T20 match. RCB achieved the feat in 2016 against the Gujarat Lions. Virat Kohli scored 109 runs in 55 balls while AB de Villiers scored 129 in 52 serves. The Gujarat lions are limited to 104 runs in 20 rounds.
4. Super King Chennai (246/5)
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals played in a classic match in 2010. CSK scored 246 hits with 5 backup hits. RR also played great but only achieved 223 runs. CSK’s Murali Vijay was the MVP of the match, with 127 runs in 56 balls.
5. Kolkata Horse Rider (245/06)
Kings XI Punjab came in for another high-scoring bout as the Kolkata Knight Riders scored a whopping 245 in 20 rounds. Sunil Narine is the man of the match. The West Indies all-rounder opened for KKR and scored 75 points in 26 deliveries. KXIP fought back and captain Ravichandran Ashwin and the team tried their best but to no avail. KKR won 31 runs.

- The 2023 Indian Premier League is seeing multiple totals of 200 or more on the scoreboard. Teams even chase huge scores to win matches. However, the highest team score at Tata IPL 2023 belongs to Lucknow Super Giants.
- Lucknow Super Giants made history in IPL 2023 after scoring an amazing total of 257 points in 20 rounds only losing 5 times. They almost came close to breaking RCB’s almost untouchable record.
- Chennai Super Kings have the second highest total IPL since 2023. CSK played against rivals Kolkata Knight Riders at their home Eden Garden Stadium and scored the first 235 hits on the scoreboard.
