“I would go through the woodland most days before returning home and writing. The record features elements of an internal dialogue and this magical universe, which I believe truly reflect that it was a very isolated period, according to Buckley. “I was able to truly dig deep and contemplate on my own for a long period. According to her, the procedure turned into a relaxing “trip,” which was “a totally new experience, even when you appreciate being by yourself. Everything was simply incredibly fantastic, being in a different nation in the wilderness.
In terms of music, Buckley likes anything from Brazilian jazz to Black Sabbath (listen to her cover of “Changes”). She is also a lively reader. She became fascinated with the mythology as she wrote Utopian Fantasy, which went well with her temporary residence.
“Because it seemed so appropriate for the time we were living in, I got obsessed with the Dionysian mysteries and the myth of Cupid and Psyche. She adds that she recently finished reading The Immortality Key, a book that incorporates Dionysus mythology, and that Cupid and Psyche “are sort of merging into a new world that’s unusual and needing to adapt, and there are wonderful things about it and strange things.”
As part of her current promotional tour, Buckley will support Lord Huron at Red Rocks on Wednesday, May 31, and Thursday, June 1 for two performances. It is “a dream come true,” in the words of Buckley, to perform at such a stunning and well-known location.
She continues, “The live performance component is really essential to me. I suppose you might anticipate a frivolous interplay of magic and profundity.
