Allison Holker Is ‘Not Shying Away’ from Dating After Loss: ‘Love Is Something That I’ve Always Believed In’

Allison Holker Boss is not closed to finding love after the death of her late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss.

On Thursday’s episode of Nick Viall Viall files podcast, the So you think you can dance The alum, 35, admitted her love life had become a “hot topic” following her husband’s death in December 2022.

As she continued to grieve and deal with her emotions, Allison said she had to “learn to love myself,” but also find answers to whether or not she could “love someone else again.”

When the question seemed like a real possibility, the professional dancer said she then wondered if she could “love someone else again while I still like someone and love someone else.”

“I found myself in a very complex situation,” she told host Nick Viall, noting that her outlook on life made it harder for her to come to terms with moving forward. “It took me a long time to accept all these things and the complexities of everything. But at the end of the day, I love life. So would I shy away from it?”

Although not actively looking for someone special, Allison explained that she was a “lover of life, experience and adventure.”

“I still think the world is such a beautiful place and there’s so much to experience. So in what capacity? What does that look like? I don’t know. But I’m definitely not running away from it,” she explained. “Simply, life is life for me and I think it’s here to be experienced.”

“Life and love are something I’ve always believed in,” she added.

While Allison doesn’t want to close herself off to any possibilities, she admitted that she “had so many dark spaces that I’ve been in, that I’ve had to be in for so many different reasons, and I’ve had to work through all these different processes all these different things.”

“But I did,” she confirmed. “I’ve been working through them… you know, we’ll see what happens.”

Allison Holker says she spoke to Stephen ‘tWitch’s boss ‘almost every night’ after his death: ‘I forgave him’

Stephen died suddenly on December 13, 2022. He was 40 years old. Allison confirmed his death in a statement to PEOPLE the next day, describing the kind of person her husband was and reflecting on the legacy he built.

“Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else, and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fan,” she said.

“To say he left a legacy would be an understatement, and his positive impact will continue to be felt,” she added. “I’m sure not a day will go by that we don’t honor his memory. We ask for privacy at this difficult time for me, and especially for our three children.”
