Allison Holker is feeling the love.
After a soft start to the new relationship earlier this month, So you think you can dance judge, 36, went public with her new boyfriend, tech executive Adam Edmunds, at New York Fashion Week on September 7.
“It’s a new experience for me to get used to this and it took me a long time [feel ready]. I didn’t know if I’d ever be in this situation again,” Holker, whose late husband, Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss, died in December 2022, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I will say this: I’m extremely happy. I feel supported, seen, understood and completely loved. And I’m really, really grateful for that.”
On Monday, September 23, the star announced that she would be publishing a memoir, This farFeb 4, 2025 The title of the book, she says, reflects her approach to life over the past two years.
“It’s about how I’ve been through so much and I’m going through so much right now, but there’s still a future ahead of me,” Holker explains.

After sharing her new relationship with fans on Instagram, Holker received an outpouring of support in her comments. Nevertheless, “I understand that it is an interesting place for people to see me, and it is interesting for me to find myself in it,” she admits.
What Holker hopes people understand — including those dealing with loss themselves — is that the new love she’s found doesn’t diminish what she shared with Boss.
“I had such a beautiful love with Stephen and I still have such a beautiful love with him. But the love I learned only helped me be even better at my next love,” she says. “I feel like I’m even more suited now in this next step in my life, this next chapter with this new, wonderful man Adam. It just made everything louder and stronger for us. It’s not that one love trumps the other. Just one love prepared for the next one.”
As she continues to share more about her life with her fans, Holker hopes to inspire those struggling with feelings of guilt or loneliness to remain open to new experiences.
“Life can be very, very complicated and have a lot of ups and downs, but you can still find happiness,” she says. “What I want people to feel is that no matter what has happened in your life, you still deserve to live and be happy and not feel ashamed about fulfilling that happiness.”
